Things to do in Quad Cities

I went to Jumer's Casino there a few weeks ago. Its the only time I've ever left a casino with more money in my pocket than when i walked in, in my entire life. FWIW.
As with all river towns the best plan is to find the local dive bar and drink Schlitz until you go blind.
Make sure to hit Augies in RI & stay at the Traveler in Bettendorf, built in movie rental/toy store in lobby.

-Say to yourself "I've now been to the armpit of america". take a picture to show off to your friends of yourself in said armpit

-Get yourself a title loan
-Meet a real life bail bondsman
-Watch things float by in the river/potentially discover a body
-Drink more malt liquor

Comedy Sportz is fun if you are into improv comedy - its kind of like "Whose Line is it anyway?" Its in the Rock Island District - Also in the District there are lots of Bars to choose from in a 2 or 3 block area - anything from Brew Pubs, to Martini Bars, to Dance Clubs.
I grew up there, so I do know some about the area.

- if trashy strip clubs are your thing.Two riverboat casinos and one land-based casino - Isle of Capri in Bettendorf are Rhythm City in Davenport the two riverboats, and Jumer's is the land-based in the outskirts of Rock Island (I-280 and IL-92). By far Jumer's is the nicest.
If you're the club-hopping type or the general entertainment type there's always something in the District of Rock Island. I couldn't tell you what bars are down there as I haven't been in the bar scene for 5+ years, but there's always something down there.
I'd look into Comedy Sportz in the District. That is almost always good for a laugh.
If you're into hockey and in town tomorrow evening the Quad City Mallards play their season finale at the iWireless Center.
For restaurants the Quad Cities tends to be Chain City, so the easy option is find your favorite chain and you'll likely find it there. However, if you want to avoid that, there's multiple choices in the Village of East Davenport. However, two of my favorites, Belgian Village and The Bier Stube, are both in Downtown Moline (Bier Stube also has a location in the East Village). One thing you MUST do is Whitey's Ice Cream. Best ice cream in the Midwest (it's the one thing I really miss from home).
As far as hotels, it really depends on your tastes and what you're willing to spend. Personally, I'm a fan of Hampton Inns. Always clean and reasonably priced, and always a free breakfast in the morning. Plus I like racking up HiltonHonors points.
This might be a little bit more helpful if you were a little bit more specific about your interests, if you were looking for "single-guy" entertainment or family entertainment, what you were willing to spend, etc. This is just a shot in the dark.
second this. Though I didn't win the hotel is very nice, casino is huge, and the food is pretty darn good ($1 shrimp cocktails at the bar). Plus the non smoking casino is a huge advantage imo.

I'll agree with most of what you said, but you can't honestly say that the Taco pizza at Happy Joe's isn't one of the most amazing things ever cooked.
I was in Davenport for business last year and I really enjoyed Front Street Brewery. Both the food and beer was pretty good.
The Quad City DJ suggest that you ride the train. Probably worth a try.

I can't believe Happy Joe's slipped my mind. Short of any mom and pop pizzeria on Long Island, NY or your Chicago-style pizzeria of choice (I like Giordano's), or even Harris Pizza in the Quad Cities (or one of it's clones), Happy Joe's is right up there.
And you're right - Joe's Taco Pizza is God's gift to man. It's pricey, but oh so worth it. One of the best leftover pizzas straight out of the fridge as well.
Four things I miss from Eastern Iowa - having lived there all but the last 5 months - and the 4 1/3 years in Ames:
1. Dwyer & Michaels
2. Whitey's turtle sundaes
3. Rudy's Cheese and Onion Enchiladas (Pure unadulterated artery clogging slimey good/evil!)
4. Kitchen Cooked potato chips
Of course I can listen to D&M online so there's a work-a-round there.

Actually, Happy Joe's B.L.T. pizza is one of the most underrated pizzas there is. Its great! Most stores put the mayo on the pizza, but Ames didnt. So request that, just in case. You won't be disappointed.
One day I brought Happy Joe's BLT pizza in to work and everyone asked where it came from. It was a rousing success!
