“We certainly appreciate the work and effort Jordan and Tavon have given our program,” Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg said in the release. “It basically boiled down to playing time for both of them. I had great conversations with Jordan and Tavon after the season ended and we mutually agreed that their chances for increased playing time would be at another school. Jordan and Tavon are great kids and we will do everything we can to assist them finding the right fit.”

doesnt bubu already go to school for free? parent(s) are professors at ISU. if thats the case, he wouldnt 'need' a scholly.

Why give Bubu a scholarship? His dad is a professor at ISU, I am guessing he gets his tuition for free, if ISU is like most every other school in the country. If we can use that scholarship on someone who will help the team I am sure Bubu doesn't care.

No. This is absolutely false.

Bubu was however put on scholly with the extra this season as a reward for the hard work he did. There was a realease from FH talking about how proud he was of him. It was announce shortly before he broke his wrist IIRC. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions.

random thought. bring back calvin godfrey. lulz

wouldn't be the worst idea i've ever heard...how is he doing anyway? If you look at the scholly breakdown he would help even the classes out a bit...

I think we get a JUCO and a transfer that will sit out this year and will play the next year...don't think we would have 6 seniors next year...would make the next year look like a rebuilding year.

All the best luck to em finding a place for more PT. I don't blame em. For some players it can be a tough choice between riding pine at a big school or dropping down a level for more PT.

Way up there
I'd expect Bubu's situation to be the same as this past season, Fred and Co will try to fill the spots but if there is an open one in December it will go to Bubu.

Is this true? I've seen this said often on here that children of professors get free tuition. Does that only apply to professors or all faculty and staff? When did that start?

Honestly, I find it hard to believe, and certainly have not been able to find it anywhere.

I don't get the hate for Bubu, especially after his play against both Uconn and Kentucky.

What he did wasn't always a thing of beauty, but it was almost always effective, and you never questioned the the level of effort you get from him.

People don't hate Bubu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha Railey is different than Sledge. Railey was a recruiting miss and was a project. Sledge was much more highly recruited and touted.

Either way...im happy the dead weight is leaving so we can upgrade in some key positions.

I wish them both luck.

Sledge was a miss as well. End of story.

It never started. It's a misconception some people have. It does often happen at private schools, so it's a logical assumption, but incorrect.

Not if we can get someone better...
I do not understand the resistance of some to putting Bubu on scholarship permanently. He is here, he is working his *** off, he is valuable and he is getting minutes. I think there are very few players in D-1 getting quality minutes like Bubu who are not on scholarship. Not in major conferences anyway.

The Staff has been planning or this, and I am sure are looking for upgrades. If it ends up that we don't use the scholly Bubu will get it, but if they can get a difference maker they will use the scholly for a new player.
