West ******* Street Deli. Good god, I miss that place.

Olde Main (not just for beer).

Es Tas. I wouldn't go much past the tacos, but damn, those are good tacos.

May House.

Pizza Pit ordered into WAS.

Jeff's Pizza.

I guess I'm not that up to date on the "non student bar/drunk food" scene in Ames these days, but these are some places I miss/seek out whenever I'm in Ames. Especially West Street. When I lived on Hyland, I always headed there after football games to soak up the tailgating booze.

>Pizza Pit into WAS...man that was the best. I know it wasn't a manly drink but WAS also had great strawberry daiquiris. I know this is a little nostalgic but my favorite place was DaVincis and their cheese steak sandwiches. Loved them so much I got a job there. Also miss Ruttles and their ramalamadingdong. That thing was a beast!

Black Market Pizza
I went there for lunch one day and got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of their chicago style and it was probably on par with the worst pizza I've ever had.

Pazessco, the Spice, and the Cafe

The 3 listed above are really good. there are good local pizza joints, Open Flame up in Gilbert, Old Main. On BBQ HP is nice they give you a lot a food fast for little $, and the Ice Cream is good but seriously I can make better BBQ in my back yard and I have only had a pit for this summer. Try one of the other local BBQ places.[/quote]

Black Market Pizza and West Street Deli are pretty tough to beat.
Just as a side note, West street deli is under some new managment so their hours are better then they were and I guarntee their food is going to be better too.
Just to add a few more names, to your list. Cazadors, the Cafe, Wallabys,

BIG Cafe Northwest Steakhouse fan. Great Greek seasoning on their steaks.

I'll even help you order:

Go for the Filet, side Greek spagetti, and Greek salad. Good stuff!

A lot of these ideas are definitely on my list to try... others have not made the cut as they are out of my college student budget

Yes! I loved Cafe Northwest. The old lady and I used to go there often.
And that is exactly what I would have ordered! The steaks were always good and the Greek spaghetti was a perfect side.

Does Cafe Northwest have many people in there on weekend nights? I didn't know how much business they were doing now a days, haven't been in there for a while.
