TCU & SMU potential candidates for future Big12 expansion?

Watching the SMU-TCU game tonight and realizing how well the TCU program has been the last decade (finished in AP Top25 7 of last 10 years, finished in AP Top10 last two years, currently AP#4). SMU seems on the rise with June Jones at the helm.

IMO, the Big12-2 should be looking ahead in the next few years to go back to a 12-team league, get the conference championship game back and the money and exposure that brings in. TCU & SMU are in the DFW metro area, 4th largest in USA. Six-team Texas division (UT, TAMU, TT, Baylor, TCU & SMU) and a Plains division (OU, OSU, ISU, Mizzou, K-State & KU).

Your thoughts?

Firstly- I agree the big 12 should work to get back to 12.

Secondly though... no chance for either of those teams. Any teams invited would be in states not currently in the big 12 footprint, any expansion candidate would need to bring at least some new tv sets . Think BYU, Louisville, Cincinatti, Arkansas...

I'd go Louisville and Air Force (try and regain a little bit of the Denver market)

just so the OP knows--UT, A&M and OU axed the likes of SMU, TCY, Rice and UH so that they would have the fertile recruiting grounds of Houston and Dallas to themselves. No way they let any of them back in, and "share" the elite recruits.

As all of the conference realignment was it's not about performance on the field it's about TV's ($$$$$$) schools bring into play and TCU and SMU bring nothing to the table that the rest of the Texas schools don't already cover.
