This news bites. I will miss the show thoroughly. BEST sportstalk show in DM BY FAR.

If history of DM sports talk is any indicator, I'm not overly optimistic. I fear we'll get some recycled "talent".

I have that fear too. As long as Larry Cotlar isn't involved I'll be alright though. Chuck Reed would be a terrible hire too, that guy brings nothing to the discussion.

I only listened to the show through podcasts from time to time, but they were pretty good especially when talking college football.

C-willy or Blum have to get something out of this. Those too are the future of ISU media with Blum taking over for Walter's when he wants to retire IMO. Blum and Bruns doing games!

I enjoyed M&D when I was able to listen since I ride my motorcycle to work whenever possible. Why couldn't giggles take a new gig so you guys could move to that time slot?

Good luck to ya

Sorry to hear the show is ending. I really did enjoy it when I got a chance to listen.

On to the replacement...say it with me now..."WELCOME ABOOOOOOOAAAARRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDD! to the Marty, Giggles, and Keeler Show!" Or maybe they should just call it "Marty and Company".

Yes! Maybe I can start listening to KXNO again, depending on who replaces them of course. If its more Cyclone haters.....forget it. I'll stay away.

Miller might be a Hawk homer but he gives ISU their credit. Unlike Giggles, Miller realized that a good chunk of his audience were Cyclone fans, and he couldn't alienate them. Yes, he gave us **** sometimes, but he was usually fair. And that I can respect.

I guess the only thing I'm really surprised about is the timing on this. Right in the middle of college football? The greatest sport season on Earth? That's a bit odd.

I mean, if they had decided to shut it down right after the football season ended, I could certainly understand that. I know I wouldn't be able to get up each day at 5am and still be out doing another radio show until 7pm.

Good luck to the both of you ! I loved your duo yrs ago and was happy to listen now! I do like all the information the two of you bring to listeners and will miss that .Sad to see local guys leaving too, way more fun to listen to local than other options out there.

did we miss their explanation for all 4 pages of discussion on the shutting down of this radio program? No explanation??????

Is one of them pregnant? Did one of them get sexually harassed in a locker room over the weekend? Did they have a fight WITH each other, this time OFF AIR?

They did a good show together. Deace made Miller a lot better than he was on his own. Now if Miller would stop doing the Hawkeye update, I mean sports on WHO.

Read the link in the first post for Miller's explanation. Also there, he says Deace will explain his reasons on the show Wednesday.

Thanks for the kind words...and those that didn't listen, hey, the best in radio have 10 ratings or such...that means 90% of the people were listening to something else...no worries.

That's not the reason.

I live here, I work here; this is my home. Iowa State is absolutely a relevant topic, every day. I was not afraid to have fun, or to poke a stick some days, but when it comes to analysis and talking about the things that matter, I play it straight. I really like the people in the ISU Athletic Department, quite a bit actually. They make our jobs easier by being so accommodating and they make it tougher to be critical because of the kind of people they are.

Jamie Pollard and Steve Malchow are two of my favorite people. Tom Kroeschell, God love him...he loves the Clones like no other and I am sure I am not high on his list...but I respect the heck out of his loyalty.

Just say, ISU treats the press better than Iowa does.

You must not have listened to me over the past four years...I have never hid my thanks to ISU on this front. I know some ISU brass has even heard me say it and has passed along the message in house. They do a fantastic job, and they are very wise when it comes to the timing of press releases to take advantage of the daily news cycle.
