We better do a good cover up job on this. From what I'm hearing, it sounds like a squawk style coverup was in the makings. Only that the 'victim' wasn't nearly as interested in sweeping this under the rug, or as interested as our coaches were.

Memo to those who think this only happens in Iowa City. Coaches look out for their players at every school, and every school has players that get into trouble.......

People may not like this post, but there is some truth to this - specifically the fact that this stuff happens everywhere. We like to think we're so much better than Iowa. ISU is likely just better at not getting caught and/or these things being swept away. I do think Iowa has a higher rate of off-field issues, but we have ours and thinking otherwise is naive.

Is what Sims allegedly did the same as rape? No. But it's still a severe crime being linked to him. I would bet though, and this won't be popular, just like Iowa had a sexual assault in the last few ears. - an ISU athlete(s) did something similar, but just didn't get caught/reported. Nope, no facts - just know these things happen more often than many want to admit in college - especially among athletes.

On the coaches supposedly trying to make this case go away. I really, really hope that's not true. I will say though, where there is smoke, there is fire. How many times has something been posted here, people freak out about it and cry false rumor - only for it later to happen exactly how the original poster portrayed it?

Many, many times.

There needs to be a point when we stop comparing our program's happenings to Iowa's program happenings. For gods sake, you guys wonder how they want to always call us "little brother" and clowns, this thread proves exactly why. And then you brush it off or try to and then ***** about it here. Its time for us to deal with our own program and not worry or bring up what happens in Iowa City and trying to compare it to us. Its stupid, and makes us look even more immature then we already do.

Meaning no matter what, the likelihood of Sims playing next year is remarkably slim for the Big 12 new comer of the year. Our discussion should turn from whether Sims is gone to what happened.
How if he didnt do it or the charges were dropped?

Dead on. Half the responses in this thread are all about WWID. Who gives a crap? We aren't Iowa, and Sims doesn't play for the Hawkeyes.

wrong, they call us little brother because we can't keep up with them in football, and they call us clowns because its an easy play on the word clones. The clowns name is just laziness in coming up with a true insult, similar to ISU fans calling Iowa squawks...lazy.

Guys I think we're missing the point of this entire thread.

Why isn't marijuana legal yet?

No, they call us little brother because a pathetic portion of our fanbase can't go two seconds without bringing the Hawkeyes into the discussion.

...and beating us 15 times in a row didn't help

I just hope all these rumblings of CPR going to the victim aren't true, let the judicial system work itself out, I dont know if he needs to use Sims as an example, but it all comes down to what was found.

I haven't seen any cyclone fans bring this up. Everyone is just responding to a hawk troll that initially said it. Maybe there is something to this effect on the premium boards, but thus far no one with credibility has confirmed or even suggested it that I've seen.

Yes. That and we are literally "littler" than them in just about everything. Budget, enrollment, fans, alumni, etc.
Which makes finishing ahead of them in the Director's cup even sweeter.

Highly unlikely he comes out clean on this, but just the same I was interpreting a post for someone.

Keep in mind that I worked for ISU Police and know how to read between the lines.
I agree, it will come down to punishment, I dont think CPR needs to make an example on David Sims, since CPR is only in his second year.

If the items listed in the search warrant were found, why haven't there been any charges until today ? How soon Police can charge someone in this case ?

Agreed.

That is, if this coach and victim conversation rumor is even true.

It is called a rivalry. That is what rivals do. Get invovled with any rivalry and you will notice it happening everywhere.
