I bought a Bissell. It is almost like a disposable vacuum. Of course, I have a lot of hard surface flooring so I didn't see the need for a fantastic vacuum I wouldn't use much. By the time I get the thing out and do the deed, I can just as well use the broom.

right after I got married in 95 we had an appointment with one.
I had to go show a house and before I left I asked her if I needed to call
and cancel or could she handle the sales pitch. She said no problem.
Needless to say I came home to her filling out the paperwork.

I asked how much and she said 15 but it can do so much.

I paused then said I hope it can pay half the mortgage.

We're still married but I'll never forget the deflated look on that poor kids face.

those guys are not above banging their clients after the initial purchase. It has happened before.

My wife let a guy in 4 years ago and we got every room vacuumed and shampooed. I ended up buying it cause I got the guy down to 600.00 and that was close to the cost of the Dyson I was looking at anyway. As some mentioned on here that Kirby is a kick *** vacuum. Hands down the best vacuum i have ever owned or used. Thing works like a champ.

Hey they are working and not sitting on the couch.

My parents have a Kirby and it's about 25 years old...they still use it on rental units.

OK this thread started over an hour and ten minutes ago. Either The_Architect just spent his kid's first semester tuition on a new Kirby vacuum or he is in a big argument with this soon to be ex-wife...

I think he's going to end up buying four of them, one upstairs, one for down stairs, one for the basement and one for the garage! Cheaper than a divorce!! :biglaugh:

What kind of vac do YOU want to push around?
I think we should put a poll in this thread. Some choices to vote on:

He buys 1 vac
He buys 2 vacs
He buys 3 vacs
He buys 4 vacs
He gets divorced (buys no vacs)
He starts selling vacs
He makes his kid sell vacs
He catches the salesman making out with his wife
etc

You should probably provide some odds to get good action.

During the mid-80's farm crisis, our neighbor was laid off from John Deere's and started selling Electrolux vacuum cleaners. His wife and my mom were friends and he needed a person to practice on, so my mom agreed to do it. It turns out that he ended up putting the hard sell on my parents during this 'practice' session. My parents farmed and had no money either, but this guy was in worse shape and they ended up spending a ton of money on this vacuum. It was a good vacuum though---probably lasted 15 years with 5 kids and lots of pets.

Fun Factiod: After Dog the Bounty Hunter got out of prison, for a period of time he was the number one Kirby salesman in the nation. Would you let that guy into your house?
