I'm teaching her a lesson by making her deal with the presentation and ignoring the whole thing. This might be divorce-worthy. :dull::no::confused::no:

I wonder how many jobs this guy failed just to say. "F it, might as well sell vaccuums." I would pass on that job and stay unemployed, mainly cuz i'd feel like a jerk for giving the presentation.

Honestly my wife bought one and I didn't speak to her for a week. 10 years later and that thing still runs like a champ. We used to buy a new vacuum every couple of years too. You can't beat the power of a kirby. They ARE worth the money.

I have to agree, begrudgingly, though.

I think a lot of it may have to do with the economy - a lot of the sales jobs out there were door-to-door things when I did a search of desmoineshelpwanted.com for a friend a few months ago. I'd imagine it's a pretty stressful job - people are likely rude, and I'm guessing it's almost all commission-based.

I know of a guy that started out selling pots and pans door-to-door and then recruited others to sell for him also and then bought a health and fitness club and then built his own health and fitness club......etc. (Some on here probably know him) It can be lucrative, but I wouldn't recommend it as a job for any normal human being!

Maybe its the other way around... all those people that harass you for amway\quixtar\primerica end up selling kirbys.

I'm more excited to get on here later when some guy posts:

I went to this house tonight to sell a vaccuum, and this lady was totally hitting on me. I'm convinced she bought a vaccuum from me just to make her husband mad.

Vacuums are more useful than the crap they push. I'll never, for the life of me, understand how so many seemingly normal, reasonably intelligent people fall for that cult.

Absolutely agree. Thats how it would be a 'promotion' to be selling kirbys.

I bought one 20 years ago. It was okay, but there are a lot better vacuums for a lot less money. My Kirby still works but the removable head doesn't line up anymore, so it doesn't work well. You could by 3 dysons for what they want for a Kirby. They might not last as long, but three of them will.

One of the salesmen got in my house and was going on and on about how I needed to buy his vacuum, because it was the best one made. Then they bring in the guy who was suppose to be the closer. This guy who shows up at my door with a 92 Astro that leaked oil all over my driveway, telling me how it only made sense to buy the world best vacuum, because it was such a great lifetime investment. Since I had already made that lifetime investment once, I was having nothing to do with it.

Finally had to tell him to leave or I would call the police and the police station is only half a block away. Never been so ****** at a salesmen before in my life.

My mom bought a Kirby like 12 years ago and the things still going, but I'll keep my Dyson.
