There are many who may agree and understand what JP was saying, but have some concerns on how he said it (same goes for the kid who wrote the email),

I'm still waiting to see Jon Miller's e-mail exchange with Gary Barta regarding the status of Todd Lickleiter and the "great basketball tradition" the University of Iowa had before his arrival on campus. The fact is KXNO is burning their bridges with ISU and Jamie Pollard. Resorting to posting an e-mail from an angry fan is the equivalent of TMZ reporting news and this has polarized the ISU fan base. We lambasted Round Guy, Larry Cotlar & Andy Garman for their interview with Ben Jacobson - but they at least had Ben Jacobson on the air! To dissect an e-mail and hypothesize what Pollard's intent was is not reporting - it is opinion. The ramifications of KXNO's actions to the ISU athletic department can affect this site. If Jamie Pollard continues to be the target of a Hawk-fan, a Michigan-fan, a Creighton-fan and a Canadian then lets hope that the only true Cyclone representative on that radio network, CycloneFanatic's own Chris Williams, is able to continue to have a good relationship with the ISU Athletic Department.

I think that Chris will come out the winner on this. Matt and company have shown their true, pathetic colors again.

Yeah, it's KXNO's fault Jamie threw a temper tantrum.

What did they do that's so wrong? They didn't write the email. They just talked about it.

Typically, I think blame usually lies with who made the **** sandwich, not who put the ketchup on it.

I understand how some people will defend JP through this no matter what, but the bottom line is he shouldn't have sent the email the way it was written. The tone was arrogant and it contained a few misspellings and grammatical errors. Not something you want the public to see coming from the Athletic Department's top dog.

We all have bad days and sometimes want to tell certain people to go to you know where, but when you're the AD of a D-1 school in a power conference, you don't handle a fan's email this way. Just my opinion.

"it it amusing to me that you never have supported the program that you so claim to love. "
This, IMHO, is a very sad, sad, statement. We need every fan we can get, even if they only buy one ticket a year. I guess in JP's mind, if you don't buy season tickets, your not a fan. Very sad.

I didn't see anything 'amusing' about it.

This...
Every Cyclone shirt, mug, hat, windsock, mailbox or ticket purchased by anyone supports the program. Some people were not blessed with a lot of money, parents who paid for their college so they had no debt afterwards or the job they have does not allow them to get to games.

I guess I was 'not a fan' until 2007 when I was able to afford season football tickets. I guess I should burn my ISU diploma, change the names of my dogs and tear down the ISU wallpaper in my sons room. Shame on me for being a horrible fan.

I'm not going to read through the last 20 pages but has anyone given a reason why this was a good idea by Pollard yet?

I still don't believe it was JP just due to the grammar issues and the mis-statement of his title. I still call BS

If it wasn't him it was someone from his office (which would explain a lot actually)

I'm guessing a lot of lessons are being learned from this no matter who wrote it.

To everyone who did not catch it on the air I would like to clarify anything thats been said:
First of all, i have not donated any money because I am a 20 year old kid. I have bought clothing, food at the games, and programs and all sorts of other merchandise. I have been to many, many games, I know i said id probably been to 15-20 games at least in football, and countless basketball games. I watch every game I can on tv from up here in Wisconsin. All i wanted to do was express my frustration with the person in charge. I am a die hard fan, all I wanted to do was express my opinion about whats going on. I have been taught from a young age, if you don't like something, do something about it. I dont like whats going on, so I tried to do something about it. So, I did something, I wrote a letter. I did not intend to make this an issue past me and Mr. Pollard. Until I got that response. I may never have enough money to donate to the program. So does that not make me a fan ever? I only wished to publicize this after his response.
I will say it one more time, I WAS NOT SEEKING PUBLICITY, I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR A WAR. ALL I WANTED WAS FOR MY THOUGHTS TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. And I got a response that essentially said I am not a fan because I have not directly sent a check to his fund raising. I just dont think thats right.

I still think you're the one who wrote that response. I call BS

I wouldn't mind him smacking the kid down. A person earns it with that original letter.

But I'd be surprised for this to be legit. I have a whole lot more faith in JP than in anyone at KXNO.

Yeah. always great to smack down life long Cyclone fans. Great PR move.
