K-STATE GAME: how will you stop Merriewether?

Hey dudes, K-Stater back again to talk some HOOPS.

To get the discussion started for this weekend's HUGE MATCHUP pitting Hilton Magic vs. The Octagon of Doom Roadshow, I'll ask a simple question:

What will McDermott's plan be to stop or at least slow down Chris "Energy" Merriewether? That'll be the key to the game IMO.

Thoughts??

We won't. We won't stop Pullen or Clemente. K-State can name a score.

We couldn't stop Frank Martin if he suited up. And we definitely couldn't stop that big money "assistant" coach. Doesn't matter who KSU throws out there, ISU isn't going to stop them.

Well we're going to keep it close through the first half. It'll be a 2-5 point game either direction at the break. Then in the first 5 minutes of the second half, we'll let you go on a 17-3 run and never pull much closer than 8 throughout the rest of the game.

That's the plan anyway.

Man, you guys were more fun when you had GUSTO, doing things like talking about how Brackins was better than Michael Beasley and whatnot.

Put this one in the win column. I remember when we used to wax you guys twice a year, but those days are long gone.

If I was a fan of other Big 12 schools, I would LOOOOOOVE Greg McDermott.

He's not. Let's just say the past 4 basketball seasons are for us what the 2004 and 2005 football seasons were for you guys. Not fun.

The key to the game? Well I'm sure that someone else has to have a key to Hilton in case McD doesn't have a plan.

McDermott will have a plan to try and stop him. Mcdermott's plan will fail and fail bad by the first minute of the game. McDermott will stick to that plan for at least the first 15 minutes of the game. Than, after we are down by about 20, he will than back off that plan and make some sort of adjustment and ISU will claw there way back to within 10 by intermission. After realizing that adjustment was effective, McDermott will go back to his original plan to start the 2nd half and ISU will be down by 30 within the first 5 minutes of the second half. McDermott will than go back to his second plan, and ISU will maintain the 30-point gap for the rest of the game. Hilton will be empty by the last media timeout.

Or they never happened, considering I just looked, and you haven't won in the OOD since at least 2001. (shrug)

Actually he won't, because Merriewether is a scrub who plays 8 minutes a game and averages less than one point...

Well, my point was more to McDermotts coaching ability than it was to who we will and wont have a plan for.

Yeah, I guess our last good team lost in Manhattan and killed you in Ames. I remember watching games in Bramledge that were half full, when Woolridge was still there. You guys had no home court until you got a good team.

That said, I can't believe your trying to talk smack here. Every last one of us has admitted that you're team is going to kill us. Straight up murder us. We suck. BADLY. Why are you still talking ****?

Curious about this! Pls cite the rules K-State is currently violating. TIA!

You aren't. It's called "jealousy". Some ISU fans think that the whole "hiring AAU coaches" is sleazy, and maybe it is, but it's NOT against the rules. I'd rather follow KSU's model than what we're doing right now. There was a time when KSU basketball was a joke, and ISU basketball was solid. Those roles have reversed.

K-State boosters are paying the AAU coach of the D.C. Assualt to steer kids to K-State. The kids while they are still in high school are getting clothes, shoes, cell phones, etc. from the D.C. Assualt coach. K-State is as dirty a program as exists right now. Also -- nothing fishy about assistant coach Dalonte Hill getting paid $420,000 a year? Your program cheats. Go away!
