Indeed it would: having both Punto and a Harris/Valencia platoon at third would be bad. Having Hudson at 2B and some combo of the aforementioned 3 would be much more palatable.

I love how Mauer's blackmailing of the Twins to improve their roster is working  Now he just needs to hold up his end of the bargain and re-up with the Twins...

As a Dodger fan I loved the O-dog. He's a great clubhouse guy and a heck of a second baseman as long as he's healthy. I think there is some concern about a prior wrist injury, but maybe it's now ok.

I'd put Cuddyer before Kubel due to Kubel's significant troubles against lefties.

It'd be a really nice signing for the Twins. They'll get more production out of 2B than the Sox will get out of DH.

I would be thrilled if we signed o-dog! Great defensive player, able to fit into the twins running game and great clubhouse guy to boot.

Did Hudson start for the Dodgers all season long last year? Or did he get hurt? Why do I recall Ronnie Belliard playing 2B for LA toward the end of last season? Maybe I was drinking too much and just don't remember this correctly?

Exactly. My expectations for this season may be off the charts if both of those happen before spring training.

As I recall O-Dog had a great start but had an injury (wrist I think) that had him in and out of the line-up in the last half. The Dodgers picked up Belliard who had some huge pinch hits, and worked himself into the lineup at the end of the year and play-offs.

Rumors up in the cities is that they are working on a 10 year deal with Mauer..just nothing set in stone

O-Dog will be a perfect table setter in the two-hole and also provides a gold glove at second. Great signing by the Twins. :notworthy:
