He can't force guys to play defense. Gilstrap, Dendy, and Brackins, 3 important players, have never played great defense consistently. They let the guy by, and hope they can block the shot. You can't block shots and rebound.

No, he can't. But he should be coaching them, and they are not doing it. So it is either they are not listening to him, or they are coached to do so.

there is no off the ball movement on our offense

I wonder if Coach told Colvin to start taking it to them "while at home" or if he is just doing it on his own?

Re: Next season

SO we need to fire McD just so we have lower expectations?!?!

Absolutely not. We should keep our expectations, just need to find a coach who can get us to realize those expectations.

Guys. This is a Duke team that is 5th in the nation. They are better than us. We are still hanging in their. Outside the start of this half, you guys should be impressed.

Re: Next season

Similar to when McCarney was replaced, I feel next season is a throw away season for ISU baskteball. What I mean by this is that there will not be a whole lot of talent here (again) and McD will struggle to get a 4-12 conference record. (again) What I am saying is if you want to get a new coach, after this season is the time to do it. Expectations will be low with a new coach and low talent just as they would be with McD next season.

If Jamie can admit he made a mistake, looking for a new coach at the end of the season is best thing that can be done for this program. I am not basing this off of tonights performance but performance as a whole for this program. Does anyone really think this team can get better than a 6-10 record in conference this season based on how McD has coached the previous seasons and this season?

maybe we should wait and see how greg does before firing him...a little premature now, dont you think?
