Severance: Season 2 (Spoilers)

Caught the first episode of the season last night. It picked right up where it left off.
I honestly didn't see Lumon's "apology" response coming. I don't believe any of it for a second, but it was a clever direction to take things. Also, there's no way that's Helly with them. That's Helena.
And very few actors can deliver f-bombs the way Zach Cherry can. Guy is just endlessly hilarious.

Scouting Mississippi

Since the other thread was closed - here's my thoughts on this basketball game. Please keep this thread on topic.

This game will come down to 3 factors - Turnovers, Rebounds and Free Throws

Turnovers:
- both ends of the court are key - but especially when Miss has the ball. They are elite at not turning it over - and we need force them to be uncomfortable. We won't force 15+ TOs, but if we can get a couple runouts, it would be ideal. We also need to not have careless turnovers - we've been better the last couple games, but if we're sloppy they'll take advantage

Rebounds:
- they are a bad rebounding team on both ends. We are up-and-down, but we need to force the issue. A lot of it has to do with effort and energy (Heise and Chatfield) and positioning (the Presidents). They are very undersized, especially when Dia is out of the game.

Free Throws:
- unlike Lipscomb, Miss put their opponents on the line a TON. This is a Jefferson/Jackson game to thrive. They need to get to the line - Malik Dia is their only player with size - and he's prone to fouling. We definitely need to pound it inside - and make our FTs.

They are very small - basically play 5 guards when Dia is out. They like to switch everything, which UNC was able to exploit for a bit when they make their comeback yesterday. I think this is a game where we can do a lot with switches to get mismatches for Jefferson and Milan, then clear out and let them work. If either can get Pedulla (6'1") or Murray (5'11") on them, it should be an automatic iso.

Other than the two undersized guards and Dia (6'9" 240#), everyone they play is roughly 6'5" and athletic.

They are a very average shooting team from both 3s and 2s, so making them work against our set defense is a key as well

All that said - the eternal CBB caveat is if a team shoots the 3 out of their minds, they'll probably win.

Big 12 Tournament Stories - KC

Thought I should start a thread of stories from KC that don't necessarily revolve around the game itself.

Rode in the hotel elevator with a couple that are Arizona fans. They're very happy to be in the Big 12...might be a bit early for opinions on the actual KC tournament.

We're staying in the same hotel as Colorado. We were leaving to get dinner as the team arrived back from upsetting WVU. Saw Danny Manning get on the elevator across from us as we got off our elevator. There was also a small contigent of CU fans singing their fight song as the team walked through the lobby. I'd love to see them upset UH tomorrow.

Keshon Gilbert

I saw the interview where Keshon said his injury has been bothering him since the first conference game. TJ said it affects his ability to accelerate and pushoff...... this explains A LOT.
So I just want to say THANK YOU Keshon. My heart breaks for you not being able to finish your senior year. Loved you as a cyclone, will be following your future career!

Trendy upset picks you aren’t buying? Upsets you think will happen?

What are some trendy upset picks you see but aren’t buying? Others not many are taking about but you think can happen?

I can see many still on the Drake bandwagon. Missouri is not as good as a few weeks ago but I still think Tigers win.

A&M will not lose to Yale.

Clemson won’t lose to McNeese

I’m not picking it but I think UNCW will give Tech fits.

I do think VCU beats BYU

Also leaning towards Akron over AZ

CSU over Mem is an easy pick to me

Cy in Duke Cannon Commercial

Saw an ad with Cy during a tournament game today. It has an unexpected ending that had us laughing out loud.

Turns out it's kind of an NIL deal for Cy for Duke Cannon soap - pretty cool!

I can't find a link to the actual ad, but this story explains it a little. I'll add a link to the actual commercial once I can find it (unless anyone else can find it!)
