Today Alli ran a clinic for my Lewis Central girls wrestling program, and I just want to let everyone know what an amazing job she did!!! She is such a valuable asset to Cyclone wrestling and CRTC we should all be very grateful for her!

She made 40 LC girls wrestlers better today, and I can’t thank her enough!!

Club yes. Sanctioned team, not a chance.
Iowa HS girls had over 2500 student athletes competing and 448 girls qualify for the 2 division state tournament/
A club team would be huge step in the right direction - womans wrestling is exploding and in a state with such a rich history /
coupled with the dominance from Iowa on the woman's side - that alone should be enough to move the needle in favor of for ISU having sanctioned team in the future

Without a doubt. And on the HS freestyle scene, Team Iowa is a top team in the country. Recruiting in our state alone would be very easy.

Alli would make an awesome coach, as I saw first hand yesterday

The sanctioned team would steal resources from the Men's wrestling team. In today's collegiate environment, I do not think there is a chance we get a sanctioned Women's wrestling team. I am happy with Pollard continuing to fund the Men's team the way he has been and do not want a Women's team to steal those resources. Maybe years from now it will be different, but I highly doubt it.

A club team would be a good start for Iowa State.

Great! You fronting the half mil to mil minimum it would take to get a team off the ground?

Just trade out sports Iowa State offers.
There is a significantly higher chance of programs being cut than any additions. Seriously, unless someone is walking up with the checkbook open to fully fund it there is zero chance anything is added. And even if they do walk up with the checkbook open they are going to try and convince them the money is best served elsewhere.

This year while I was working at girls state they announced that Iowa State would be starting women's club wrestling in the fall , is this not happening now ?

The Galanakis girl from Creston....is she the daughter of Mario Galanakis from Nodaway Valley? Placed a few times in the 99-02 range, I think?

Algona sent 6 to 2A state and has 4 in the finals and another going for 7th. Algona is all on its own and not combined with any other schools. (May have someone from Algona Garrigan, but not sure)
