Iowa State cancels remaining gymnastics season

Holy smokes. Time for Jaime to comment on what's going on. I'm guessing that doesn't make the conference office too happy.
If anything, it would save money. I’d also expect the team on the remaining schedule gets a W as well.
Of course this happens the year I finally decide to attend Beauty & the Beast

I want to say that I am starting this message hoping that I am wrong.
I have a bad feeling we are about to cancel our Gymnastics Program.
It's obvious that the coach needs to go. Team has been regressing, and hiring new assistants seemed to just make the team worse. A good chunk of our regular starters have started posting highlights on their personal recruiting Instagram pages, and other schools coaches are liking the posts.
We know Jamie needs to find money to fill the NIL. A quick ChatGPT search shows that a D1 Gymnastics program costs a school about 3 million a year. I would guess for most gymnastics meets (take out beauty & the beast) the crowd barely breaks even for Hilton to be open.
Once again, I hope I am wrong, as I have 2 girls who love to go, but I don't know if in this day and age of NIL, if we are prepared to completely start over.

I don't follow the landscape/current events of such things closely, but with Title IX I would be very surprised at the cancellation of any women's sports.
Not how it works in gymnastics W and Ls don’t matter it’s scores. this really screws over other teams in our schedule
Don’t think we will ever know what really has happened. As an alum of this program it makes me sad!
Can't eliminate Women's Gymnastics without adding another Women's Sport or any sport I belive we have the lowest amount of sports to be in the BigvXIi
I thought I read that the insurance alone is really expensive, which would make sense considering the risk on injury.
Didn't the good gymnastics coach go to OU? Not that long ago we were pretty decent weren't we?
Title 9 Defiantly plays a factor, but I feel like we could add another sport that would significantly less expensive
we can’t eliminate any women’s sport without eliminating a men’s sport.
