Monday Musings: most TD's in a NFL season by a Cyclone question

So I know the question was asked and looking at offensive players only the winner isssssss...Sage of course..with Houston in 2007 throwing for 15 and rushing for 1.
After him David Archer & David Montgomery are tied with 10 in 1986 & 2020 respectively. Now for career touchdowns the list goes:

1-Seneca Wallace 32 total (31 pass, 1 rush)

2-Sage Rosenfels 31 total (30 pass, 1 rush)

3-Jim Doran 25 total (24 rec., 1 fumble return)

P.S. did this search after working a 12 hour shift so if somethings wrong don't be to harsh on me. Thx.

On That Note: Endless Summer - End of Summer Edition

Welcome to a slightly early edition of On That Note. We do this every week, between @cyclones500, @CycloneRulzzz and myself.

Since this week marks the official end of Summer, we've decided to observe it with some songs by the group most associated with the season - The Beach Boys. And since it's the end of the season let's look at the back side of their singles.

For this OTN we're asking posters to choose/rank your favorite Beach Boys singles B-Sides.

Below is a link to the Wikipedia Beach Boys Singles discography. Please note that the B-Side song is the SECOND song listed in the pairs. For example, for their first release "Surfin'" is the A-Side and "Luau" is the B-Side. Do not consider the A-side song (first one in the pairs). IMHO most of the more familiar tunes will fall in the range of years 1962-1966.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beach_Boys_discography#1960s

There are several ways you may approach this. Ideally, we'd like you to rank (and post) at least your top 5 B-sides. You may also choose to rank/post 10 in two posts. If you're not familiar with enough of them to do even 5, at least post the ones that you do like. Comments on the songs are encouraged, as always.

(I will wait a bit before I post my choices.)

Last week's OTN was "Story Time." It can be found here: https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/on-that-note-story-time.273419/

Ken Burns Latest Documentary Series Airing this week on PBS

Ken Burn's latest big documentary, The U.S. and the Holocaust, is airing on PBS this week. Caught the 1st episode (of three) by chance last night and it's the usual top quality Burn's stuff. Episode 1 is repeating tonight after Queen stuff at 8:30, at least here in MN. You'd have to check that for your states PBS but think this is national. It can also be stream direct from PBS or via Amazon Prime (I think). Episodes are two hours each, so not sound bit level coverage, about as in depth as you can get via film.

Disclosure: Dropping this outside "the cave" as sort of a public service announcement, not as an invitation for a bunch of political mudslinging. I am glad I stumbled onto it last night or I might have missed it entirely, hence wanting to share that it is airing. Hits home as a personal history interest point for me, I have pictures my father has of Buchenwald, one of the notorious death camps, from 1945.

US Navy: "Hey, look at all these UAP!" "Oh, wait. NM."

In response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from a government transparency site called The Black Vault, the Navy said that any public dissemination of new UFO videos “will harm national security as it may provide adversaries valuable information regarding Department of Defense/Navy operations, vulnerabilities, and/or capabilities. No portions of the videos can be segregated for release.”

3 games in; how good is the offense?

Pretty good I'd say. The O-Line is shaping up to be the best we've seen in the Campbell era, sans the 2020 season, and they get some good push in the run game which is something we've maybe never seen. The RB room very good, and very deep, though I think would have some concern is J. Brock went down. Sanders and Silas are clearly more complementary type backs and I'd be concerned if one of them had to carry a full load or if it were down to just the two of them in a committee.

One thing that has frustrated me so far is the passing game, with the amount of throws to the flats, 4-5 yard outs, 8-10 yard crossing patterns and slants etc. When the blocking is there, these plays can appear 'explosive', but what I'd like to see if more downfield stuff. We know Dekkers has the arm. Is the issue in offensive scheme or in WR talent? X and Noel are really good in space, but not sure either of them are burners. Is the missing piece someone that can take the top off of a defense, or is it just not schemed to move the ball like that? I am fine with getting 7-8 yards per play, and the offense has a nice flow to it so far, but I'd like to see us tee up a few more home run opportunities. Final scores of 42-10 vs SEMO and 43-10 vs Ohio are great, but look around the conference a little bit:

Kansas beat Tennessee Tech 56-10
WVU beat Towson 65-7
Texas Tech beat Murray St 63-10
Oklahoma State has put up 58 and 63 in games this year

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, but it'd be nice to see a result like one of the above at some point, and I'm trying to figure out why we don't ever see it. 70-21 v.s Louisiana Monroe a few years back is the closest I've seen a Campbell-led ISU team get.

Underrated 2021 Defensive Recruits

I believe Carston Marshall and Myles Mendeszoon recorded tackles in all 3 games and Joey Petersen (younger brother of Zach) had 3 tackles in Ohio game.

Combined offers for the freshmen:
Akron
Army
Bucknell
Buffalo
Georgetown
Princeton
Toledo
Western Michigan

Marshall was 6 of those 8 offers.

On That Note - Heads Up RE: This Week's Edition

And as usual with these early reminders, DO NOT POST to this thread, but wait for the actual launch.

Two things:

One. Since it's my week to host OTN, and I will be largely unavailable this week beginning Tuesday afternoon, I will be launching this week's edition on MONDAY. That's one day earlier than our normal launch, of course.

Two. After some back-and-forth coordination between the guys, we have arrived at a topic. Without giving away the title of tomorrow's actual post, it's choosing/ranking your favorite Beach Boys singles B-Sides. (We did a couple similar topics on the Beatles. One, we asked posters to rank their favorite 5, 10, or all of the B-Sides. Then we did the same with their A-sides).

I am providing a link to the Wikipedia Beach Boys Singles discography.

Further details will come tomorrow night with the actual post.

Again, this is the heads up. DO NOT POST to this thread, but wait for tomorrow's actual launch.

Surf's up!

Massey composite ranking ISU, other notables

I think with 3-4 games in the Massey composite rating is actually somewhat valuable given how many polls it considers. Many are still using a lot of data from last year but some just this year.
Here’s where ISU, Big 12, Possible New Big 12 and other notables sit:

5. OU
9. OKSt
12. Texas
15. Utah
16. Baylor
17. ISU
18. Cincy
25. BYU
33. Iowa (I know, but take it as a good win)
34. KSU
42. TTech
44. TCU
48. UCF
50. KU
60. Houston
64. WVU
73. Arizona St
