2024 Signing Day Central

Iowa State is set to welcome its 2024 recruiting class, officially Wednesday, December 20 – college football’s National Early Signing Day.

Below are all of the expected signees to the 2024 recruiting class, with links to stories and detailing their roads to Ames.

Players that sign their NLI’s with Iowa State will be updated inside this article throughout the day on Wednesday.

Connor Moberly | 3-star QB – Altoona, IA (SE Polk HS)
6-foot-4, 195 pounds
Other offers: Northern Iowa
Iowa State’s lone quarterback commit of the class. A three-time state champion with Southeast Polk. The Cyclones got in early on Moberly and secured its relationship with the gunslinger. Pitt and Duke were slated to get in the mix with Iowa and Tulane just before Moberly announced his commitment. He will enroll early in Ames, while HS teammate Carson Robbins joins the program as a PWO this summer.

Dylan Lee | 3-star RB – Gilbert, AZ (Williams Field HS)
6-foot-1, 200 pounds

Scored a touchdown in Monday’s U.S. Army Bowl game. Lee becomes the second-straight Iowa State RB commit to play in the U.S. Army Bowl and also the latest signees out of Arizona for Iowa State – they’ve got a pretty good track record there. He will be enrolling early after playing in the HS all-American game.

Brett Eskildsen | 3-star WR – Frisco, TX (Centennial HS)
6-foot-2, 190 pounds

A pseudo-Iowa State legacy recruit. Eskildsen grew up cheering for the Cyclones as his mother attended Iowa State in college. He decommitted from Northwestern after Pat Fitzgerald’s departure and shortly after made his commitment to Iowa State official.

Dominic Overby | WR – West Jordan, UT (West Jordan HS)
6-foot-4, 180 pounds

One of Iowa State’s late additions to the class, a sizeable wideout that put up big numbers over his senior season, despite an injury to his school’s starting quarterback.

Cooper Alexander | 3-star TE – Washington, OK (Washington HS)
6-foot-4, 225 pounds

A dynamic tight end with plenty of high major offers. He’s got the tools to be another talent in the room that has produced some bright stars and plans to room with his high school quarterback & best friend PWO Major Cantrell.

Keaton Roskop | 3-star TE – Marion, IA (Linn-Mar HS)
6-foot-3, 215 pounds

Iowa State really likes what it has in Roskop. The first Linn-Mar Lion on scholarship at Iowa State since Grant Mahoney. Roskop will enroll early and detailed his recovery from a torn ACL in the story linked above.

A.J. Burton | 3-star OL – Englewood, CO (Cherry Creek HS)
6-foot-5, 290 pounds
Other offers: Colorado, Colorado State, Indiana, Washington State, Charlotte
Another sizeable offensive line target for the Cyclones. Iowa State beat out Colorado to earn Burton’s commitment. He just underwent surgery on his shoulder but is working towards being back to 100 percent. He detailed his recovery in the link above and will enroll early in Ames.

Wade Helton | 3-star OL – Corona, CA (Centennial HS)
6-foot-5, 290 pounds

Recruited with his twin brother, Brent, as a packaged deal. Stayed committed to Iowa State despite accelerated outside interest following their commitments. Brings the athleticism between the pair of athletes.

Brent Helton | 3-star OL – Corona, CA (Centennial HS)
6-foot-5, 310 pounds

Recruited with his twin brother, Wade, as a packaged deal. Stayed committed to Iowa State despite accelerated outside interest following their commitments. Brings the brute strength between the pair of athletes.

Dontrell Holt | 3-star OL – Joplin, MO (Joplin HS)
6-foot-5, 295 pounds

One of Iowa State’s original crop of offensive lineman. He wants to come in and dominate the line of scrimmage under Ryan Clanton’s leadership.

Garret Rutledge | 3-star OL – Council Bluffs, IA (Lewis Central HS)
6-foot-6, 295 pounds

A late pickup to Iowa State’s class that commits following the weekend’s round of visits. A sizeable offensive line product that brings Ryan Clanton a class of five prospects that all could be in the mix – because of his philosophy – depending on how summer goes.

Jace Gilbert | 3-star DL – Hartland, WI (Arrowhead HS)
6-foot-5, 270 pounds

The first commitment to Iowa State’s 2024 class. Shares a name with Iowa State kicker Jace Gilbert. His head coach at Arrowhead High School raves about his work ethic and attention to detail.

Alijah Carnell | 3-star DL – Las Vegas (Bishop Gorman HS)
6-foot-5, 290 pounds

A member of the MaxPreps High School National Champions in Bishop Gorman. Part of the final weekend visit group that Iowa State had in before Signing Day.

Kenard Snyder | DL – UL Monroe
6-foot-0, 248 pounds

A transfer out of Louisiana Monroe – can get to the quarterback and did so in his redshirt sophomore season, totaling 60 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Two years of eligibility remaining.

Iowa State flipped Beau Goodwin late in this class’s cycle away from FCS powerhouse SDSU. He had his eye on Iowa State from week 1 of the season and committed after being offered and taking a visit to Ames.

A wide receiver turned defensive back. Iowa State hopes to develop Cummings-Coleman like they successfully have done with Darien Porter and others in that room over the years.

6-foot-3, 195 pounds

Set to play at the middle safety / star position at Iowa State. Rated as the No. 13 prospect out of Wisconsin that wants to prove himself in Ames.

A do-it-all quarterback for ADM in his senior season. Totaled 3,059 yards. Rushed for 1,932 yards (10.3 yards per carry) and 27 touchdowns. Added 1,124 yards through the air for 13 touchdowns, and suited up both ways for the team.

Carson Robbins | WR – Des Moines, IA (Southeast Polk HS)
6-foot-1, 170 pounds
Known offers: Benedictine
2024 commit Connor Moberly’s top high school wideout and best friend. Had 928 yards and 11 touchdowns on 50 receptions in 2023. First team all-State selection.

Logan Bacon | S/RB/WR – Lake Mills, IA (Lake Mills HS)
6-foot-1, 177 pounds
Known offers: Sioux Falls
Brother to current Cyclone Caleb Bacon. Looks to earn his way into a spot on the field. Second team all-State & District Offensive Player of the Year.

One of two PWO’s from Ankeny Centennial. Had 39.5 tackles for the Jaguars and will join his high school teammates in current Cyclone RB Easton Miller and fellow PWO commit Blaine Sandquist.

Blaine Sandquist | OL – Ankeny, IA (Ankeny Centennial HS)
6-foot-6, 270 pounds
One of two PWO’s from Ankeny Centennial. Will join Ryan Clanton’s O-Line room in Ames. Will join his high school teammates in current Cyclone RB Easton Miller and fellow PWO commit Connor Welsch.

Lance McShane | RB/LB – Maquoketa, IA (Maquoketa Valley HS)
6-foot-2, 200 pounds
A first team all-Stater. Rushed for 2,028 yards and 31 touchdowns while averaging 9.1 yards per carry as a running back this season. Collected 57 total tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery this season.

Angelo Jackson | RB – Davenport, IA (Davenport Assumption HS)
6-foot-1, 185 pounds
Known offers: Minnesota State, Upper Iowa, Grand View
Rushed for 1,345 yards on the ground and totaled 147 receiving yards. Collected 27 touchdowns, offensively. Had two kickoffs ran back for scores, and found 22 tackles along with an interception.

Charlie Whelpley | ATH – Batavia, IL (Batavia HS)
6-foot-2, 220 pounds
Known offers: Butler
A high school teammate to current Cyclone linebacker Jack Sadowsky (2023 class). Helped lead the Batavia offense with 730 yards rushing for 11 touchdowns and 613 receiving yards for another 4 scores.

Drew Clausen | Long Snapper, Northern Iowa transfer
