RECRUITING: Iowa State lands Florida linebacker after unofficial visit

Iowa State has landed a commitment from Florida linebacker Aric Horne following an unofficial visit to Ames. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect announced his pledge Friday night on Twitter.

Horne is currently unrated by the scouting services, but holds offers from 18 schools, including USF, UCF, UConn, Rutgers and a host of other FBS programs.

Horne, who is a product of Raines High School, the same high school attended by current Cyclones JaQuan and Josh Bailey, is Iowa State’s first 2019 commit from the state of Florida. He is the program’s 12th commit overall in the class that currently rates as the No. 37 class in the country and No. 6 class in the Big 12.
