Full Capital City League rosters and schedules released

The final YMCA Capital City League rosters and schedules have been released ahead of the league tipping off on June 15 at Valley Southwoods. The league’s schedule will also feature three Thursday nights played at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny.

At first glance, Des Moines Outreach Lions Club seems to have one of the most complete rosters of the bunch and a group capable of putting up some serious points. Iowa State freshman, and the No. 2 pick in the CCL draft, Lindell Wigginton is joined by Drake guard Reed Timmer to lead a high-scoring backcourt.

Plus, UTSA graduate transfer Jeff Beverly will team up with Drake’s Nick McGlynn to form the frontcourt. The group also includes CCL mainstays Galat Toang (Grace) and Matt TerHark (Wayne State).

A few of the other top duos include Doerrfeld Promotions’ Solomon Young and Terrence Lewis, Hinterland’s Donovan Jackson and former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee standout, now professional in Hungary, Matt Tiby and JayTees Apparel’s Nick Weiler-Babb, the first overall pick in the CCL Draft, and Drake’s TJ Thomas.

If I had to put money on it, I’d have to say Lions Club has my favorite roster of the group. But, any of those other three listed have the top level players to make some serious noise and win a lot of games.

You can see the full schedule and rosters in the attachments below.
