Baylor just beat West Virginia so with that, here are some updated Big 12 Tournament seeding scenarios for Iowa State.

Play around for yourself here.

If Iowa State beats Oklahoma State and West Virginia…

Then no matter what, Iowa State will be the 2-seed in Kansas City vs. in a matchup likely vs. Texas Tech or Oklahoma.

If Iowa State beats Oklahoma State and loses to West Virginia…

Iowa State would be the 4-seed in Kansas City. If Iowa State plays as the 4-seed, it is all but guaranteed that it would be against Oklahoma State as the 5.

If Iowa State loses to Oklahoma State but beats West Virginia…

Then Iowa State would be the 2-seed likely vs. Kansas State or Texas.

If Iowa State loses both games…

The worst-case scenario is a 5-seed, assuming that Oklahoma State would beat Kansas on Saturday. Still, Oklahoma State would be the 4-seed so the Kansas City matchup wouldn’t change at all.

One other scenario to watch…

If Iowa State beats Oklahoma State but loses to West Virginia, the Cyclones can still be the 3-seed if Texas was to beat Baylor this weekend. The 3-seed matchups up with the 6, who I am projecting to be TCU.
