My wife hates Sci-fi/fantacy genres. I love the Star Wars and LOTR movies(watch them every year). She has never seen either. :(

When they start out with "Shut your f'ing face, uncle f'er" I about split a side. And then the whole Saddam and the devil thing. There's not many movies where I had laughed that hard.
There was a mom who bought her kid to it in front of me and my friend. We thought, does she know what this is? They got up and left a couple of minutes in…

Scott Pilgrim is a movie I love but I haven’t even asked my wife to watch, she’d hate it.

For the record I don’t really like gangster stuff. So while I appreciate Scorsese and the Godfather and stuff, I might never watch them again. I don’t enjoy it.

She's got a point. They pretty much ran out of viable plot ideas after Part 3.
Part 5 actually wasn't too bad, but the damage was already done on Part 4, so she checked out.

Cable Guy, and that’s not just the old lady. I know it has a sort of “cult” following. A person either loves it or hates it. There aren’t many movies that make me laugh as much as that one.

The dinner scene with Owen Wilson is top notch.

Haven't read through the entire thread so this may have already been brought up.

The Warriors

I love Scott Pilgrim vs. the World so much.

I tried to make my girlfriend/now wife watch it with me one time. If only because I think it provides a lot of insight into the mindset of nerdy men who grew up playing too many Nintendo games.

Not that I'd know anything about that...

The women in the cast are all favorites of hers.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Anna Kendrick
Brie Larson
Alison Pill
Aubrey Plaza
Mae Whitman

She made it about 15 minutes in before commenting "this is stupid" and getting up to leave. She never came back. I didn't bother getting back up off the couch that evening.

I absolutely love "The Man From UNCLE". It's a love letter to the look, sound and feel of spy movies from the 1960s. Yes, it has Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, and yes, the plot is terrible. But I absolutely love it. The hubby, not so much. LOL

Great movie. One where the plot literally doesn’t matter.

I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite movie, but man it’s incredibly unique, the film style is unbelievable, and there are a million just absolutely hilarious things in it to me.

But if you don’t like that mid-aughts twee stuff you’d find it to be annoying as hell.
