Becky Lynch wins in what amounts to a roll up. She took Ronda's twisting samoa drop and turned it into a crucifix

Such a weird finish to end a PPV like that. Not sure what to think about it. Guess we’ll know more this time tomorrow night.

This is the first WWE PPV that I can think of that was better than the NXT TakeOver.

And clearly the best WrestleMania since XXX. I don't know if it was better at this moment, but it was really, really good.

Well done, WWE.

Overall grade for tonight's event?
Best match?
Worst match?

What was everybody’s favorite match from this weekend? Even though Kofi had the best moment, mine is Pete Dunne vs. Walter from Takeover. Had seen a handful of Walter’s matches on YouTube before this weekend and this one ranks up there with the best of them.

Reading some "rumors" online that say the ending was supposed to be Becky tapping out Charlotte and Ronda was not happy backstage at what is seemingly a botched ending.

Would make sense, that ending seemed rather rushed and out of nowhere.

If you’re curious as to why the fans went into business for themselves during the Orton-Styles match, it’s because they couldn’t see very well.

That Main Event was STIFF. All three of them hit some pretty solid shots.

I'm near certain that Ronda lost track of the count after Becky rolled her. I think she thought '3' was '2'. That match ended up needing Charlotte to run it. It was certainly the right call to go Triple Threat. Only complaint is that Ronda needs to stop yelling about '*******' all the time. It totally loses its effect after a while and just starts to sound forced.

Overall, really good Mania. Didn't feel like the slog that last year did.

Could be. That finish though was just awkward as heck....I don't think anyone even realized what was happening until the count was finished. It just came out of nowhere with little build up to it.

I realize they wanted to keep Ronda and Charlotte both looking strong, but the finish really should have saw Becky tapping one of those two out....or even both.

Then the broadcast really seemed to rush off the air without celebrating what just happened with Becky.

Man what a long @ss show that was.

There are plenty of others that are saying that, in fact, that was the planned finish, and that the botch was Ronda’s shoulders weren’t completely down on the 1 count and the other botch was Graves exacerbating it by pointing out Ronda’s shoulders weren’t down while Cole was trying to get him to shut the F up about it.

The bottom line is it’s all speculation and we may not even get to find out tonight due to injuries. Ronda broke her hand during that match, and there’s speculation that Charlotte legitimately injured her knee - and if that was the case, maybe the crucifix pin wasn’t a botch, but an audible. There are no reports about a Charlotte injury, but Ronda’s hand is out there.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that the finish that happened was the finish that was intended to happen. Ronda wasn't supposed to bring her shoulders up, and for whatever reason -- maybe just instincts -- she did, and then the broadcast crew brought attention to it and weren't supposed to.

Just finished watching. I think it was a solid mania, but needed more jaw dropping moments.

*Shane/Miz was a fun match and I like how it ended because the Miz is at his best when he gets screwed or almost wins ect.

*HHH/Batista was the perfect type of match for two guys past their prime. Dirty it up and make it almost "I have to look away" at times. Having Ric Flair interfere was a nice little payback.

*Love seeing Rollins win clean but even my wife (who doesn't care for WWE) said its probably because he'll be in Iowa in a couple weeks (my son and I are going!)

*The main event was entertaining and lets just hope WWE doesn't screw it up going forward.

*Why do they have a preshow when the whole thing is on PPV anyways? It's all the same show?

*I'm more excited for the RAW after mania than mania.

*Dean Ambrose is done with WWE correct? Does that mean Renee Young will be on her way out?

https://www.si.com/wrestling/2019/04/08/wwe-wrestlemania-finish-ronda-rousey-becky-lynch

SI says the finish of the women's match went as planned and was meant to protect Rousey and keep her strong, while also planting the seeds for a rematch between Lynch and Rousey at WrestleMania 36 next year.

Ronda Rousey is not finished in WWE.

Per SI.....multiple source close to WWE have confirmed that the "controversial" finish of the WrestleMania 35 main event went off as planned, with Becky Lynch pinning Ronda Rouse in a "Winner Take All" match for the Raw and SmackDown women's titles that also included Charlotte Flair.

The finish saw Rousey go for the "Piper's Pit" (her signature spinning Samoan drop) on Lynch, but when Lynch hit the ground she pinned Rousey's shoulders to the mat and the referee made a quick three-count. The controversy was over Rousey's shoulders briefly but clearly lifting off the mat before the count of three, leading some fans to question whether she had botched the finish.

The loss marked Rousey's first defeat in WWE, and the finish of the match was designed to protect Rousey and keep her character strong. Because Rousey got her shoulder up for part of the pinfall that ended the match, the finish protects her and allows her to say Lynch did not legitimately defeat her.

WWE officials have tentatively slated Rousey to wrestle Lynch in a rematch at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa on April 5, 2020.

In the interim, Rousey is likely to step away from pro wrestling to pursue having a child with her husband, former UFC star Travis Browne. Based off comments Rousey made last year to TMZ, the rumor has been a popular topic -- and the timing would make sense considering that Rousey has spent the majority of the past year on the road.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported Rousey broke her hand during the match. Sports Illustrated has learned Rousey will have official confirmation on whether the hand is broken after visiting her doctor today.

If Rousey is having a baby and isn't already pregnant, there is no way she'll be ready for Mania next year.

There's no way Rousey's pregnant right now - or, if she is, her pregnancy would be at a stage that nobody is aware of it. No legitimate promotion is going to allow a woman they know to be pregnant to participate in anything physical, as they wouldn't be medically cleared to participate. But yes, if we were to assume Ronda got pregnant after her match last night, there's no way she's participating in next year's Mania. I can't imagine even the baddest ***** on the planet would be in any condition to wrestle a main event-caliber WrestleMania build 90 days after having a child.
