I swore this was coming out in like November but just saw an ad on TV saying it started streaming tonight. Starting now

This was even better than I thought to start this series off. The connectivity from The Batman felt seamless, which can be hard to do when it’s a show coming after a movie. Would recommend to anyone after the first episode.

Rings of Power dropped too and I had no idea about it until I turned on the game last night on Prime.

If I haven't seen The Batman am I going to be missing a lot? One of those movies I haven't gotten around to watching yet.

So the one on Fox eventually failed and it’s being tried again? Another Batman reboot? At least do the Riddler series or something

Penguin, Rings of Power and the second season of House of the Dragon are on my watch list.

Now, all I need is time to sit and watch tv.

I literally tried to watch it in entirety like 6 times. The only time I have for tv is when I go to bed. That movie is 3 hours long. I’m sure it is a great movie but I’ve only seen the first 1/3 while awake.

It is slow pace for a superhero of movie (even vs Nolan Batman) but not compared to say a classic detective film. There are two action scenes that are pretty clearly the best in any comic book based movie. After Fury Road I had a hard time not laughing at action scenes in Marvel/DC movies and The Batman impressed me with actually trying to be at that level.

I’ll try again to get through it again before starting the Penguin. Probably three 1 hour sessions is what I’ll have to do.

I'm the same way. Ideally a movie is a 2-3 night affair but sometimes 10 minutes in it's obviously time to sleep. The series you can always say just get one episode in.

Is that Colin Farrell as the penguin? That's mind blowing if it is.
Yup. It’s one of the more amazing transformations in cinema history imo. He was outstanding in The Batman, and even though you knew he was the actor, you forgot he was because of the work they did to make him look like that.

Also, I literally had no idea that was Colin Farrell until someone at work told me.

What a transformation - both physically for this role, and when you think of his progression as an actor. Remember when he was a drunk, fighty pretty boy? And now he's this incredible, transformative, deep actor - and person, with what he's done to advocate for his special needs child. Dude is great in this role, and just overall.
