Our high school was divided into 4 houses. One principle over the 4 houses. Each house had it's own house master. Ours was Mr. Abate so he was referred to as Master Abate

My kid worked in the social services for a while, there was a pair of sisters named Yo'Highness and Yo'Majesty.
Mom wanted them to always be treated right by other people. And she thought this would work.

I want to say one of them, their dad was the son of the other one's dad. But I might not have that right.

Once upon a time in my youth, I was chatting with some people I worked with while we were on break. It was a group of about ten people, all in our early 20s, and somehow we got to talking about naming our future children, and people were taking turns discussing their preferred names. There was one girl, when it was her turn, who passionately said "There's a name that I've always loved, and I WILL be giving to my first daughter."
Someone asked what it was, and she gleefully said "Animosity!"

I remember kind of snorting because I wasn't sure if she was serious, and someone said "You're joking, right?"

No, she wasn't joking. No, she didn't know what it meant. No, she didn't change her mind after learning the definition. She actually got really defensive about it and said something like "I don't care. I can name my kid anything I want!" before storming off.

So, as far as I know, somewhere out there, there's a girl named Animosity.

I went to elementary school with a girl named Carrie Hunt. Too young to know that that was funny. She moved away before middle school, but I assume that it was rough on her, no matter where she went.

Having worked with medical records, I've seen some doozies. Saw a newborn baby boy named Talon. Also saw a patient named Crystal Glass. A co-worker who's a registered nurse said that when she used to work the floor, they had a patient called Tad Moredick.

My husband's former co-worker has a son named Blaze. (I believe the son is now college-aged) Then there's my husband's cousin's kids....Atticus, Diedrich, Lincoln, and Thea Belle.

Many years ago, my mom, dad, aunt, and uncle were playing a game called "Go to the Head of the Class". My aunt reads a card as "Spell 'rare-riffy'" My mom and dad were confused, so she repeated it, and they were still baffled. They finally looked at the card, and the word was "rarify". My aunt was a second grade teacher for nearly 40 years.
My son runs track and cross country with a Talon.

My wife had a student at her middle school named George Bush Bill Clinton. He was from a recently immigrated family and that's how they Americanized his name.

I used to have an immigrant who worked for me named Mohamed Mohamed. After being in the country for about 10 years he changed both his first and last name.
