When I was at ISU my sophomore year you could get a case of Leinie's "Winter" longnecks for $6.99 at the Quick Trip in Campustown. We bought a few cases. It was terrible. Tasted like it had been soaking in pine needles. We gave it to uninvited guests.

Veishea '95?? Campustown QuikTrip sold this for $5.00 a case (24 bottles)...

Absolutely the worst beer I've ever had.

I'm going with the aforementioned Clear Creek Ice. It's turrible.

And to add to the Fat Tire discussion - I think it's awful, too. But, hey, a lot of people love it so it can't be too bad in the grand scheme of things.

I'll call it a tie between Corona Extra and Rogue Dead Guy Ale. A beer belch after swigging Corona Extra smells like a rancid fart.

Hmm... I actually like both of these quite a bit. Different strokes I guess.

LOL, Dead Guy Ale is delicous. B+/A- on BA. One of the more popular maibocks. Maybe we should have a separate thread for 'least favorite style' of beer.

Yeah, I know this is a pretty popular beer and it's well regarded. But I know what I like, and it isn't this. When I tasted it, I thought maybe that much like Sex Panther is made from real bits of panther, Dead Guy is brewed with real bits of dead guys. Gross.

I've never had this, but it looks suspect!!!!

Some cans of Generic Beer were pretty good. Others, just awful. I'm sure the major domestic brewers appreciated a way to get rid of their bad batches.

Fat Tire Discussion:
Not too bad going down (though I'd certainly not place it with Belgians of a similar style). Unfortunately in me and a number of other people I know, Fat Tire causes quite a terrible reaction in my system that is purged with force and volume from the opposite end that it was drank from. Therefore, I avoid it like the plague.

Talk about p*** water. Not sure why it has any rep.

Haha! Yea, I know what you mean. I absolutely hate IPAs, but I know a lot of people just love them. It's pretty cool how differing peoples' tastes are... but in the end we can all come together and agree that beer is awesome!

I happen to like the Dead Guy, but that right there is just funny

Plus the label is cool...

It would have to be Billy Beer, the only beer I could not at least finish the can once I started to drink it. I had sips and that was all I could take. Next would have to be Milwaukee's Best.

Agreed! Here's to alcohol - the cause of...and solution to...most of life's problems.

IMHO - Fat Cat was right down there with Pigs Eye (and I think it was made by the same brewer. I only saw it once at a little beer store south of downtown Saint Paul).
I liked the graphics though. No marks on the can to tell me who the brewer was.
