Crappy Carver crowd cheering on home team vs a horrible Minnesota squad, who lost to Nebraska by 25 and sh#t-stomped twice by northwestern

Hawk media guy John Bohnenkamp votes in some poll with vitale-- and will vote Iowa in at #2 even after this crap game at home vs Minnesota. Hawks should drop 10 spots in polls with that performance . Hawks FAKE ID. Of MBB??

Iowa appears to be coming back down to earth. Their outside shooting in January wasn't sustainable. Their bench is not good.

Did Woodbury really just go and entire game without a single field goal attempt? How is that even possible?

He's been completely squeezed out of the offense. Rarely gets the ball in the post. Mostly just sets screens and hands the ball of at the top of the key.

Uthoff provided about 50% of their box score tonight. Still #240 RPI at home, should have coasted. OK St and TCU are around 150 and nobody else is below 75.

McKay did just fine against his all world defensive prowess.

By all means, if one doesn't do a good job defensively in every single game against every single opponent, then one is not a good defender.

tm, you're better than this. A smart guy like you should just defend Woody with the "well, he has improved" train of thought. He started out with the advantage of being 7 freaking feet tall. With that in mind what does it say when his total number of blocks is comparable to Monte Morris' total number of blocks?

(EDIT - I went to ESPN to verify this assertion. Monte has 8 blocks on the year, and Woody is averaging 0.3 blocks per game. Over 25 games so far, that's 7.5 total. 10% of what his teammate Uthoff is producing.)

He's not a shot blocker. He never has been. That doesn't mean he doesn't still play good defense. Arguing otherwise is a very simplistic position to take. "He tall. He no block. He bad."

What was McKay's line against Woody? I only bring up McKay because he has a limited offensive game. So one would guess that Woody and all his defensive studliness would be able to contain a limited offensive player? Its a fair question.

McKay had 20 pts and 12 rebounds while shooting 83% from the floor. McKay actually had 3 more offensive rebounds than Woodbury had total rebounds and Woodbury played more.

Was the 'Bury even playing in that game, because if he was no way a limited offensive player like McKay could have done so well, one could say that he even dominated the matchup.

Do you know what the dunk comparison was between the 2 players during the game? Or for fun all year?

Ok so let me get this straight, when talking about Woodbury as a 7'1" player we can't use blocks, dunks, scoring, as well as possibly rebounds to measure him as a player? Is this correct?

Even more than altering shots, the biggest things he does defensively are communication to help the other four guys on the floor with him, and denying the entry pass. It's difficult for opposing bigs to score when they can't get the ball in a good position to do something with it. It's not flashy, but that doesn't mean it's ineffective.
