I haven't looked through all the posts, so forgive me if it was previously mentioned - but I performed the update and they only thing I've come across thus far is my speakers seem to be disabled. Anyone experience this?

Thanks

I had that problem. Go to your computer manufacturer's website and download the driver to reinstall it. That will fix it.

Unfortunately that advice hasn't fixed scrolling or gesturing on my touchpad.

crucial mx100 is really good for the price. Samsungs are nice (850 evo).

Thanks, I needed the 500G so I bought the mx200.

Just installed it, and loaded W10 on it .... really, really fast compared to my laptop. Install was under 10 minutes. This install is my production machine.... so, it could get interesting.

So I did my 2nd upgrade of Windows 10 this weekend, this time on my Dad's laptop and ran into a really weird issue. After the upgrade everything seemed just fine, rebooted and all the sudden got a BSOD just like this one as soon as I tried to login but eventually I would not get it after several restarts and was able to get in. Started searching Google and first few things I found reference an issue with Bluetooth so I disabled all the Bluetooth devices and services, rebooted same issue. Ran Chkdsk, no errors so completely at a loss as I knew it was something hardware related causing but couldn't figure out what. Then after digging more into some stuff on Microsoft's website found exactly what it was. Someone else who also had a Dell laptop had the same issue and found that rolling back the touchpad drivers fixed it. Apparently the touchpad drivers you get straight from Dell was the issue, if you rolled back to the generic Microsoft touchpad driver the issue goes away. Made sense because figured out that touching the touchpad to get to the login prompt was when it was happening, if I plugged in a USB mouse I didn't get the issue.

Just another quirk for W10 to look out for I guess

It's not just Dell, I have a Toshiba...while I can use the touchpad, if I try and hit the button to disable it (I use a mouse most of the time, and tend to drag the touchpad with my thumbs, so I usually have it shut off), get the same thing.

Try going into the device manager and under the driver properties for your touchpad hit the rollback button and see what happens. When I did that it rolled back the installed Synaptics touchpad driver from Dell back to a Microsoft driver and the issue went away and didn't have any affect on the functionality of the touchpad, probably would do the same in your case I bet too. Very annoying though, you'd think that the drivers for the brand of touchpad would be certified and tested for Windows 10, especially since you can go straight to the vendor's site for you laptop to download them and it shows right in their support documentation for Windows 10.

My ASUS touchpad was will wonky after my upgrade. A combo of rolling back drivers, updating the drivers, and some curse words has it fixed :twitcy:

Installed it on a desktop and two laptops a few days ago. Must be lucky, no problems at all. And I'm an old woman and CF is constantly telling me we old people can't handle these fancy techy things and interwebz and have to annoy our adult children by asking for help.:spinny: (I had them on standby just in case and they were shocked at my success.)
