Barkley was very outspoken about it. I think there was one minute and 40 seconds left when they made that call. If they would have called it a block like they should have, it would have put us up 4 points and a chance at 5. With a 4 or 5 point lead our chances of winning that game greatly increase. Wasn't there also bad out of bounds call right before Craft hit that shot?

I have to pick some nits about CW and Blum saying peak Clyburn was better than peak Ejim. Ejim won Big 12 POTY his senior year for goodness sakes. Clyburn was great, but it you look at their stats their last year at ISU:

Clyburn:
15.9 PPG, 7.3 RPG 1.6 APG (44.3/30.8/76.8)

Ejim:
17.8 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 1.8 APG (50.5/34.6/76.1)

Both were great players but Ejim clears him across the board statistically.

This is the peak Hoiberg team to me. All the other ones had such a defined identity around one player Royce and Kane and then the Niang/Morris/Thomas/Naz seasons after are separate since they span both him and Prohm. It was all gas no brakes. I'm shocked going back through this team was never ranked, but I'm probably blinded by nostalgia

Babb getting hurt in that last game is almost as big of a what-if to me as Niang breaking his foot. The Niang foot team was better, but Babb was our stopper and the path after was a 6th seed Arizona and 9 seed Wichita State to get to the final four.
That team was dominate at home with the only loss being the BS overtime loss to Kansas. They won a few games on the road but ultimately not enough to get a higher seed in the tournament, which stinks because they should have won at Kansas and at Texas at the very least if it weren't for giving up a few late threes.

Questionable, at least. I think now that would be reviewed to determine possession.

Oh come on, nobody has reached as many fantasy final fours as the Cyclones. Our fans are so bad sometimes.

That was classic CW. A top 5 player since 2000?! He always tries to bring up more obscure players and overhype them.

He get hyperbolic about a lot of things. Pretty sure I’ve lost count on how many different wins are “his favorite win of all time”.

I just remember telling myself not to watch it again because I was too mad.

Aaron Craft is now Dr. Craft.

Post-professional basketball career[edit]

He enrolled in the Ohio State University College of Medicine to pursue a medical degree in August 2020.[34][35][36] Craft matched into an otorhinolaryngology residency at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and graduated medical school in 2024.[37]
I'll take facts I did not need to read for $2000, Alex.
I don't care if he wins the Nobel prize for medicine. I will never forgive that cherry cheeked little rat.

What's so hard about a 4 game win streak in an end of season high stakes single elimination tournament?

Again didn't see that team too much but I thought Clyburn was a classic 'will he or won't he?' type.

Also, Craft fouled out on that blown call.

He was the best player on the floor some games and others you could have told me he didn’t play and I would have believed you.

I liked Will a lot but he’s fringe top 10 in just Hoiball/Prohm/Otz era let alone since 2000. If he’s saying top 5 since 2000…yikes.

I think I'd maybe put him in Top 5 of Hoiberg era transfers.

Even then...it's not that simple for overall program wide impact.
