Fun variety of topics this week. Vegas tickets, season tickets, stupid golf rules.

Notes:
  • It is not unusual for Vegas to wait to sell single game tickets. ISU doesn't sell theirs until August too.
  • If Vegas releases more seats, where would they be? 200-level, mid-field, low rows? If so, that would mean that last minute fans are getting seats through the ticket office that are better than mid-level donors. I have to think that Pollard has been trying to get his hands on those tickets.

I want everyone to get to the game that wants to go and with as little stress as possible. But while I do think more single game tickets will open up, I wouldn't think they would make any good seats 'cheaper' than what the ISU donors are paying.

But if that happens, it happens. I would also hope that the bashing of our own fans doesn't exist just because of tickets. No criticizing fans who bought season tickets from UNLV for not much more, so they could just have peace of mind. Nor criticizing those that will wait. Lets just have fun, people!

This game has been on the books since Chizik was roaming the sideline and bowl games weren't a given.

The standard visitor allotment is around 4,000, so 4,250 isn't out of line. It's not a bowl game, where you get 10K and can keep asking for more. ISU can try to spin it that way, but UNLV isn't obligated to do anything beyond what's in the contract.

The cheapest single-game ticket for a UNLV game last season was $88. For their premium game (Nevada) it was $110. It's pretty obvious that ISU could be considered the premium game on their 2021 home schedule, so $121 to get in the door isn't much of a gouge.

I don't see the big deal - most places don't sell single game tickets until late-summer. If they don't release more tickets from the ticket office, then the secondary market will be crazy-high for them. If Iowa State fans book their hotels/flights and truly take 30K to Vegas, then they will drive the secondary market so high that most UNLV fans will cave on their tickets and cash in and it will be all ISU fans in the stadium.

Once again I don't see the issue and I don't see how UNLV is supposedly holding Iowa State hostage.

Regarding the season ticket numbers- at what point do we hit max capacity for season tickets, once you subtract visitor allotment and single game tickets held back for athletes\families, recruits, etc? We have to be getting close to there.

Seems like at a certain point, to grow that number we're going to need to grow into the NEZ (I imagine putting the students there and then making their seats spots for higher priced season tickets)
