Will Covid reduce or eliminate fans even more at our remaining home games.

Will you be going Saturday?

If fans are able to. But I will then self isolate for at least 10 days because I will assume I could give someone COVID.

Yep just dumb luck by Pollard and staff on having very low covid cases in the athletic department.

Maybe.
One thing I know is never to trust public figures that boast like he has about it. There's always more to the story, so I take Pollard's bragging with a grain of salt.
So no, I'm not giving him credit for that without someone much better providing the information.

Do you self isolate for 10 days every time you go out in public? Just wondering.

I wear a mask every time I go out in public. I have been taking this very seriously. Since March I've ate outside at a restaurant twice. That's it. Look, I'm lucky in that I can telework. In my mind, the football games are a high risk area and I'm committed to my choice not costing other people their health.

I'm honestly shocked more people aren't behaving as if they care about others, but according to people on this site, restaurants are filled up.

You are such a hypocrite...

That’s totally on you if you don’t see it.

What's totally on me? If I don't attend a game, I go to the grocery store as needed. If I do, I feel like I'm putting others at risk and therefore stay home.

Not seeing that you’re a hypocrite...

Per your statement - you’re part of the problem.

You shouldn’t have went to the restaurants...

Fair enough. I ate outside, which has been considered safer than indoor dining. If you find outdoor dining also unsafe, then you are right I am a hypocrite. I do find it unkind to be dining indoors right now, but that's my opinion. You keep going out to the bars and restaurants.

With Covid ramping up in Iowa and the hospitalizations in the state increasing to record numbers. Even though Iowa State fans have been outstanding (seen it in person) in wearing masks and social distancing as best as possible, will our hand be forced to reduce our numbers to even less than the 15K that has been at games or to no fans for our remaining two games.
It should further restrict attendance in my opinion. I believe that the game itself is minimal risk, but what goes on in the community pre and post game is likely the problem. Just having the game encourages bad behavior. Multiple posters on here, when indicating they were going to attend away games, asked for bar recommendations. Too many people cannot grasp simple concepts.

Can we stop with this? It takes enormous discipline and a sound program and they deserve credit for that. But you can have all those things in place and still have outbreaks. There's absolutely some luck involved.

Both things can be true. We should celebrate our success in keeping these athletes largely free of illness. But we shouldn't brag about it, because for all we know, next week it might be our turn.

To be fair to that guy, I’m sure he was being facetious and responding to the same few posters who crap all over everything all the time when it comes to covid, or pretty much anything else for that matter.

Ok. Wasn't trying to be a smart ass or anything. I was truly curious. Why would sitting in an outdoor stadium away from people (with a mask) be more dangerous than going to the grocery store?

He contradicts himself in a different thread.. Confusing to say the least.

I wish you were trying to be a smart ass! (I really liked that previous post/question of yours).

But you did just ask him another great question.

I'd consider going to Iowa State games this year among the safest things i've done during pandemic - if you choose to respect and follow the rules.
