Will Covid reduce or eliminate fans even more at our remaining home games.

With Covid ramping up in Iowa and the hospitalizations in the state increasing to record numbers. Even though Iowa State fans have been outstanding (seen it in person) in wearing masks and social distancing as best as possible, will our hand be forced to reduce our numbers to even less than the 15K that has been at games or to no fans for our remaining two games.

Our hand be forced is the key phrase there. My guess is not likely for KSU but potentially for WVU.

Not exactly sure.
Maybe we can musical chairs the last games. Every ten minutes the announcer tells even rows to move 6 seats to the right and odds 6 to the left. Then after three to four of them we can flip them and move the opposite. Would not be around the same people for 15 straight minutes then. 3 hours equal 360 minutes would mean we need to move 35 times.

Have they traced any spread back to the games? With how transparent Pollard has been, I would have thought he would have reported that, if it were true.

I've been to every game. Other than walking in and out, I don't feel like I'm really around more than about 10 people.
Yes the big scary number is attendance of 15,000, but sitting in your seat, there are not many people in front or behind us and no one else is close to us in our row.

Isn't that just going to cause more exposure? The more people you have close contact with; the greater your chance of transmission. Ideally, once someone gets to their seat, they wouldn't move until the game was over.

I don't believe contact tracing is being done on a large enough scale to determine if this was occurring.

She did about 5 minutes ago.

And now the IHSAA and UNI have to come up with a totally new plan less than 48 hours before kickoff, after tickets had already been on sale to the participating schools.

Outdoor gathering with more than 100, but we were requiring masks anyway, no?

The bottom line is do people in authority believe masks work, or do they not? I have seen a lot of people claiming that masks are the magic bullet to stop the spread. Not convinced myself, but what I think doesn't matter in the least.

Well, guess that got answered quickly. Sucks for those of you that had tickets to the KSU game.

Maybe, but having had Covid, quarantine is a bigger issue for me than catching it. That would keep the quarantine issue off me.

It's always super interesting when people who are not infectious disease doctors have to be convinced of something that they have no expertise on. No one has ever said that masks are 100%, but actual experts (and not those that read something on facebook) have said they greatly help stop the spread. Also note that they are learning more and more each day and affects what they know.
