"To get booed off like that — it's a bad feeling," said tailback Albert Young, whose 95 yards gave him 968 for the season. "A really bad feeling."

The fans boo the players, why would you go play for such a disrespectful fan base. I hope they had a busload of recruits on hand to witness it.

You can boo the refs, coaches, the opponent, but never your own team.

To answer your question, because they've got a chance to win the Big 10 championship and an outside chance at the national championship, as well as a Heisman contender at starting quarterback year in and year out. I mean, ask every person that wears the black and gold, as well as every single media outlet in the nation.

I would NEVER boo a player on Iowa State unless they did something stupid like get a dumb personal foul call or said something anti-his own team. NO ONE on iowa's football team deserved to be booed off the field on saturday. There is a reason iowa's fans get voted as some of the worst in the big 10 year in, year out. Not to say there aren't good ones who do the right things by their program and team, but overall iowa's fanbase is very fickle and just seems to forget that these are student athletes and 18-22 year olds. These kids need support no matter where they play. I understand it would be hard to cheer even on a senior day with a loss like they had, but how can you boo? One of my good buddies is an iowa fan, was at the game, and told me it was just sad to hear...I guarantee he was one of the minority NOT booing at kinnick.

I cringe when I hear booing of amateur athletes. I'm not talking about booing the entire opposing team as they take the field, we all know that is different. Maybe I'm over the top but I also don't like the chants "we want austen". These are young guys working their asses off, alot harder than most of us do in our daily jobs.

There's a guy within earshot of me at the football games that's constantly berating the players. I know they can't hear him but still......I have an idea, if you're going to criticize a player, don't do it from the stands, wait till after the game and meet him outside the lockerroom and do it to his face!!

This is a rhetorical question, right? (rhetorically speaking)

I remember hearing plenty of boos for Meyer this season, especially during the Toledo and Texas games. So our fans aren't perfect either. Right or wrong, booing players happens and won't ever stop.

I would lots rather go to the u of i er eiu than I would Kansas ... where the only time you have a football fanbase is when you win 12 games in a row otherwise the only fanbase at KU is for basketball...I guess I forgot that Kansas always wins at b-ball..

I'm not a big fan of booing the home team.
Booing when your team isn't doing well in the middle of the season is one thing, but booing your team as they walk off the field for the last time that season, and for some, the last time they will be in pads, it's just really really sad.

Because the athletic department will soon have assembled the best group of defense attorneys the world has ever seen.

Kirk Ferentz and Dan McCarney have more in common than you think. Dan McCarney was 18-18 in his last 36 games as Head Coach at Iowa State. Kirk Frentz has the same record the last three years coahing Iowa.

Yeah, but the salary figures are a little different. Oh, and nobody chews gum better than Kirk Ferentz.

Except for Iowa gets the Outback bowl, Alamo Bowl, ?????, witha 18-18 record.

They would need a lot to happen for them to get to a bowl, but I will tell you they will be the first 6-6 team to go if they need one. It will depend on the PAC10 Conference. If Arizona State gets into the championship then the PAC 10 will be short 2-3 teams for their bids.

Iowa is like the Micheal Meyers of College football since 2000. Every time you kill them and bury them in the woods....on the drive home you find them starring at you in the rear view mirrow of your car. They just won't die. It would take 200 things to happen to get them into a bowl, but its about money and wierd things happen when its about money.

That is crazy. I will really make me mad if they go to one. That would be 3 years of crap.
