Why is Baylor playing Huston-Tillotson tonight?

How does the NCAA allow something like that?
Because it hardly counts. Doesn't count for RPI, as many others have said. If Baylor weren't playing Huston-Tillotson tonight, they would have a bye. If a team wants to play a lower division team during their bye, why shouldn't they be allowed?

No they shouldn't. It's basically to pad their stats.

Why on earth does it matter if they are padding stats? I guess we shouldn't be allowed to play Mississippi Valley State anymore. Dang.

If the two teams want to play each other, than let them play. I remember one year under Eustachy when we played Coe in Hilton. I also remember an exhibition where our women's team was down to Wartburg at half.

We played them before conference play started, they are playing a non DI school during conference play. It's a mid year scrimmage.

I'm just surprised because listening to the announcers and reading the Big 12's Twitter makes it seem like Gather's rebounding record will count as a Big 12 record. Isn't it just in-conference games that count?

Look, it's really pointless to be upset about this (BDK). In no way does this game affect Iowa State whatsoever. We also played a team during our "bye," the only difference is that our bye occurred during the first day of play in the Big 12 when we played South Carolina.

That just makes it sound like an even more dumb idea. Could still do that as an exhibition, or was Hollywood not available in early November?
