Who else would LOVE to play Iowa in Sweet 16?

The downside that some will point to would be sharing the spotlight with the Hawks for two rounds. But who wouldn't feel better about playing them than Gonzaga? Do we really think Georges would let us lose that game? No way.

Id love to beat them again. However, since there is a chance ISU could lose the game, I want nothing to do with Iowa.

The Hawkeye butthurt if they lose to ISU in the NCAA tournament will be glorious.

But I have an incredibly hard time imagining this scenario pans out.

The main downside I would see to a Sweet 16 game against Iowa is if (a big if) we were to lose. Imagine how bad that would be. Yikes. That's a loss we'd never live down, and would hear about from Hawk fans until the end of time. Other than that...yeah, sure. ;-)

I would love it, we could play bad and lose to anyone but Iowa would be the least talented team we could face if Gonzaga doesn't lose it's first round game. Much rather play them than Gonzaga

There's not that much upside to playing a team that we beat by double digits again in the tourney. You lose that, and you have a sour taste in your mouth for the rest of your life.

If you lose to almost any other team in the Sweet 16, you look back fondly at this season for the remainder of your years.

I would have a sick feeling in my stomach til the end of time if they knocked us out of an NCAA tournament.

Would you rather have a 50% chance to make the Elite 8 with no really downside of losing or a 95% chance to make the Elite 8 with it being horrible if we lost? I'd much rather have a better chance of winning

The upside is an easy win to get to the Elite Eight. Iowa just doesn't match up well with ISU at all. And again, Georges has owned the Hawks. I want to see "the kiss" part 2.

It won't happen. Iowa won't beat Davidson, let alone Gonzaga. If they did manage to get there though I would be thrilled. Nothing better than an easy win to go to the elite eight combined with knocking Iowa out of the tourny. We killed Iowa at their own court without BDJ or McKay. They would have no chance against us.

I'd hate it on multiple levels.

Of course. I'd love to play any team in the Sweet 16 whose butt we kicked this year, especially on the road.

Am I the only one that remembers Eustachy's last game as a Cyclone? ISU beat iowa in iowa ****** earlier in the season and then faced them at home in the second round of the NIT. Nothing is worse than having a win on their court in the series neutralized by them getting the upset. This ISU team has laid worse eggs this year.

No. Thanks. Let the squawks get walloped by Davidson.

EDIT: The other problem is that there would be that much additional hype for that game so even if ISU does beat them as they should it will be difficult to get the team's heads screwed on straight to play another big game two days later.
