I had probably the best job I could have hoped for. I had a work study job with the Purchasing Department and then with the Accounting Department (university accounting not the academic accounting department). I did some clerical work. I was able to pick my own hours, although it always seemed like they could use me more than I was around.

2005-2006 Stagehand for the Iowa State Center (basically a janitor, boy did they know how to utilize their employees...)
2006-2009 Network Admin for the Sociology dept.
2007-2008 Teaching Assistant for the ComSci dept.

Easily the best thing about the Network Admin job was helping the girls who worked the Soc 134 study room

1998-2001 UBS Art Dept. No there is not a cash register down here.

2002-2005 Arch. Dept. TA (in the armory). I loved the armory, nothing like working on a project at 2AM and having a big chunk of plaster fall on the table next to you, that'll wake your *** up. It was a little sad when they put in the net.

RA from mid-Fall 99 to Spring 02
East Hy-Vee in the fall of 02

I was pretty fortunate to have saved up quite a bit of money before going to college and the RA job was free room and board and I think about another $115 a month stipend so for most of college I just paid tuition.

Went to ISU f '89-sp '94. Fall-winter of 89-90 worked as a league official for Parks&Rec volleyball. Went home that summer. After that - stayed year round in Ames. During the summers worked P&R summer maintenance and sand volleyball official, in the winter continued the indoor volleyball league official job, and year round worked at the community center and auditorium as a facility supervisor. Great gig - got paid to do my homework.
