Yep, go past the Ames Country Club and drive thru Gilbert . It's worth the slight inconvenience.

Can't believe I'm the first to say it, but La Fuente. Their quesadillas are delicious. Also I hear they have margaritas

How does the may house and Chinese homestyle get so much love. Cocost is way better. (by pita pit). Other than that el azteca cause it's cheap, tasty and quick. Black markets pizza is terrible don't let their menu fool you. Great plains is great. Pizza pit wings <3.

West town pub is one that's not mentioned yet I believe, it's not bad.
Don't go to valentinos, it's awful.

And of course the cafe.

cafe beaudelaire. get the empanadas as an appetizer and then get the beaudelaire bauru which is an incredible burger with a fried egg, ham, muenster cheese, good bread and a host of other ingredients. I highly recommend it.

... I have not been in Ames in quite some time....I have no clue when or where this place popped up at, but if that egg is over easy like Sunday morning and the special guest host of ingredients is tarragon mayonaise:yes: ...I AM ALL IN !!!:smile:

Cocost is not even close to better. Sorry. I enjoyed it during undergrad because it was cheap but that's all it has going for it.
