The transfer portal to me is so much worse than NIL. There's no more commitments to your team or school. But I also think a coach should also have non-compete clauses in their contract making them sit out a year if they leave before their contract is up.

Athletes should also have some type of non-compete and/or payback requirements.

I'm guessing it won't take long before they're written into the NIL contracts. Someone's gong to drop 6 figures+ on a recruit and see them transfer after their freshman year. That'll end up making the NCAA's rules seem tame.
