When was the last time you wore a tie?

In another thread the length of Trump's ties was brought up. Made me think the last time I wore a tie. Would have been a few yrs ago when I was a wedding reception host for my nephew.
Sometime in the early 2000s I think they really fell out of favor.

Last week.

I’m an attorney. Most offices (and my new gig in government) don’t require a tie day-to-day anymore, but typically you need to wear one if you are going to court.

A wedding earlier this year for me. I'm in my early 30s and have wore a tie for work maybe 10 times in my life. Hard to imagine a time where dudes were suited up every single day - that would get old

I honestly don't even know. It's been at least 5+ years.

I hate ties. I hate any concept of "formal" dress. About the nicest you'll ever see me in is a nice pair of pants and MAYBE a button down shirt. I am in wedding later this year and will have to wear one for that.

Only for weddings and funerals.

Not sure I understand the concept of professionals should wear ties. IMO, you should dress for your industry regardless of what your job is. If you’re in manufacturing and your clients don’t wear suits and ties, why would you?

If you’re in finance, then I assume you just wear your golf apparel to the office since that’s where your client meetings are held?

Honestly, pretty much only for funerals of family members.

Gotta say though, I'm glad society has also moved onto more comfortable quasi dress shoes at events too.

Christmas party. I have three Christmas ties and one Halloween tie that I don't get to wear anymore so pulled one out for X-mas. I probably have 50 ties but as a retired dude I'll wear most again. Gotta chuckle at the collection because they range from really narrow ties to wide to "regular", spans 40 years of styles.

Speaking of this informal dress I got taken out to diner by the ISU Foundation the other day. Went to a nice place that years ago I would have met friends at for happy hour and we would have been at a minimum in good office casual wear. Looked around that evening and people at other tables were dressed more like they were going to the gym. Me? I saw this as an opportunity to dust off my blue linen blazer. No tie but did dig out my like running Cy pin!

When I retired I gave away all my ties except the novelty ones. Now I am thinking if I am a pallbearer someday would Mickey Mouse or Snoopy really be appropriate?

That look would go great with a bolo tie.
