My mother is crazy about having Christmas lists from everyone she is going to shop for before the end of this weekend. She does the same thing every year but for some reason I just can't think of anything to put on my list this year (except for ISU gear). What's on everyones Christmas list this year? Maybe it will spark some ideas for me.

Money
ISU clothing (sweatpants, hat, sweatshirt, etc.)
A hot girlfriend
All of the above, please.

*sigh*

Anyway, I don't think anybody in my family is going to get me anything from my Christmas list, so mine is more of a personal shopping list:

Radeon HD 4870 graphics card
Digital camera (10MP or so)
GPS unit for my car
Webcam for my computer
New cell phone of some kind

Clothes - but no way I'm letting my mother buy me clothes.

I always give her a simple list - slippers, socks, t-shirts, etc... Plus, she loves putting together small albums of old family portraits - which I enjoy immensely. Other things I enjoy from her are written stories about what she went through at different times of her life. That's the stuff I actually keep.

She used to be an Avon Lady - and I have cologne stuffed everywhere that I'll never use (anybody need some Wild Country aftershave?), along with the dual flashlight/radio, etc etc etc... At least in my mom's case, I keep it simple and personal. Somewhere, I've got a dual golf club cleaner/walkie talkie set.

Has she given the story that goes "I can't believe I was in labor for 14 hours just to deal with your shenanigans"?

Nah.... I was a blessed Sunday child.

The best story is how she met my dad. She was taking tickets at a high school basketball game - and she was the one using the ink stamp on people's hands to show they paid. My dad wouldn't give her his hand and kept pointing at his forehead - so she stamped his forehead. You got the short version, but the full version is quite hilarious and very illiminating about both of my parents.

On my list:
To spend time with family (really don't do that enough)
Hope my brother finds a place to live (lost everything in Ike)
Hope my students succeed in their final year of school as 8th graders before moving on to HS.
And for me - just some time to relax and enjoy the time of the holidays

A Spirit Boulevard (or any other locally owned Beer & Wine store) gift certificate is always nice.
