Assuming WVU is in the Big 12 next year...
My "homer" prediction (if ISU has a decent offense and a good qb). :wink:

Non-Con
Tulsa W (Tulsa is a pretty difficult team, but I trust CPR to get this victory)
Iowa W (This game will be a toss-up, but I like the Cyclones)
Western Illinois W (Unless they improve, this should be a pretty easy win.)

Conference
Texas L (We compete but fall short at the end.)
Baylor W (In an exciting game, our defense prevails against Baylor's lethal offense.)
WVU W (WVU struggles in it's welcome to the Big 12)
TCU L (Close loss, TCU has a mediocre season but beats ISU anyway.)
TT W (We seem to play well against them.)
KU W (I can't see Charlie being a good fit in that program.)
OSU W (Here's the upset of the year.)
OU L (Close loss but Stoops pulls it out again.:realmad:)
KSU W (We finally get these guys.)

Regular Season: 9-3

Bowl Game
Alamo/Cotton

My optimistic record is 8-4 but I see 7-5 as our record. Unless one of our QB's can start to complete more passes then I could see us doing better.

Jukebox,
I pray that your right. I'd give my left nut if you were right. My gut feeling is either a 7-5 or 8-4 regular season. CPR finally finds the right qb and the offensive line busts it's arse better then this season.
ISU has talent at runningback it has never seen before. The wide outs are going to be good next season. We have the best linebacking corp in the BIGXII. Let's just hope we find the right CO to lead this offense. Wally will have the defense ready.
We should have one HUGE upset somewhere if not two. Once again I say either 7-5 or hopefully 8-4. If that happens I can see a nice bowl somewhere in the south.

at the very least a 6 win season. The XII always has a team that is projected to do very well (Texas A&M) in the year but ends up with a poor season. They also always have a team that over achieves (K-State).

With having a general idea of how the schedule will be. This year has breakout written all over it for CPR. He has shown what he can do with an extremely difficult schedule the past 3 years. Id like to see what he can do with a far more manageable schedule.

Possible depth chart?

Offense:

TE: Hammerschmidt/Brun (Should be the same or better)
LT: Bykowski? (KO will be a pretty big loss, but the line seems pretty solid)
LG: Tuftee (Should get better)
C : Farinok (Should get better)
RG: Gannon? (Hicks was good but had a lot of penalties that killed drives.)
RT: Burris? Lichtenberg? (Should get better)

Overall Offensive Line/Tight End Prediction:
Kelechi is a huge loss, but the improvement of all the other players may offset KO's talent.

QB: Steele Jantz OR Jared Barnett OR Sam Richardson (I hope this position gets a lot better. They need to.)
RB: White, Woody, Johnson, Hollis, Nealy, Standard (Should be better)
WR: Horne, Daniels, Lenz, West, Bundrage, Young, Gary (Darius Reynolds had some big games this year but was non-existent in half of them. Darks was not a big producer this year. Should get better)

Overall Skill Position Prediction:
This group needs the most improvement, and I see a lot of groups that should improve.

Defense:
LE: Scott, Irving (Lattimer was decent but should probably get better)
DT: McDonough, Liang, Simon (Should get better)
NG: Woods, Jensen, Pompey (I think Pompey has the raw ability to be better than Rump, but we'll see how he performs next season.)
RE: Maggitt, Nelson, Hayes (Should get better)

Overall D-Line Prediction:
Should improve because of experience. We need more QB pressure next year!

SLB: Cheese (Better)
MLB: George/Porter (Better)
WLB: Knott (Better)

Overall Linebackers Prediction:
Will be amazing hopefully. We will miss Cheese and Knott after this upcoming season.

RCB: Watson? Stokes? (Probably won't be as good as LJ, but hopefully will be in time.)
LCB: Reeves (Better)
SS: Brackens (This guy looks like a player. I think he will be as good as Ter'ran.)
FS: Washington (Better)

Overall Secondary Prediction:
Should be pretty good--especially if they don't get any 15 yard penalties:wink:. Hopefully they get better then they were this year.

Way up there
Im not sure about the record but I'm expecting a bowl game. I expect an 3-0 start again, Tulsa will be tough but they replace a great QB, hopefully the new guys struggles and IMO the Hawks have a lot of question marks on offense.

We don't have an elite QB...maybe Sam Richardson is one. I think maybe he is. You've have GOT to have one to win big in this conference. But until we get one we are going to struggle to get to 6-7 wins. Including next year. People thinking we win 8-9 wins next are high. Straight up high. Not going to happen. 2013...maybe, if the ball bounces our way, we get to 8-9 wins.

I think we could win 8 games next year. If the team is as good as I think it could be, I would expect to win Tulsa, Iowa, WIU, Kansas, and Tech, and out of the other 7, I would think 3 wouldn't be out of reach (BU, KSU, WVU could be great chances, and as we saw with OSU this year, every game is winnable). 8-4 would be a fantastic outcome and I'm not expecting it but it is definitely not out of reach either. Of course it is impossible to know right now.

9 would be crazy but 8 would be as surprising as 6 this season.

Home-away rotation look favorable compared to this season. So, if the team is even equally competitive, 7-5 should be a minimum expectation.

I'll still play it ultra-conservative and say 6-6 — a surprise win and a head-scratching loss in the mix (this assumes WVa is on-board):
Tulsa: W
@Iowa: L
Western Illinois: W
@Texas: L
Baylor: W
WVa: L
@TCU: L
Texas Tech: W
@KU: W
@OSU: L
OU: L
KSU: W

Tulsa: W. They lose their big time play makers and have to come to Ames.

@ Iowa: W. They are taking a step back next year. They lose big chunks of the O/D lines, the best receiver in school history, and RB is unclear.

Western Illinos: W. Sure as hell better be.

@ Texas: L. I think McCoy will start to assert himself in year 2 of that system, and the defense will continue to be stingy. Not seeing 2 straight wins in Austin.

Baylor: W. No RGIII, no Kendall Wright, no Terrance Ganaway. Big time step back for the Bears, and the defense will still suck.

WVU: L. This is the closest thing to a toss-up on our schedule. If they can run the ball well, they will be a tough offense. Geno Smith is a very good QB, and will be the best passer we've seen up to this point. Could go either way, but I feel that this is the winnable game we drop.

@TCU: L. On the road, against another very, very talented QB. Plus, you know Patterson is going to have a great defense out there. I would feel better if this game was in Ames.

TTU: W. Big win. Rhoads owns Tubbs, and I don't see that changing next year in Ames. We run the ball down their throats again.

@KU: W. They will be a mess.

@OSU: L. This game is circled. Gundy is bringing the fire of hell. I realize they lose everyone, but the team, crowd, coaching staff is going to be out for blood.

OU: W. The signature "Rhoads" upset against what could be a very down OU squad.

KSU: W. Finally, Rhoads "solves" Snyder. We've been so close to beating them the past 3 years on the road, and finally get them when they get back to Ames for the first time in half a decade.

8-4. Insight Bowl.

Another prediction: the new OC makes it a point to play to our strengths. We run the ball heavily, and our passing game goes through the run. We have lots of play-action, screens, and slants. Whoever the starter is (I'm thinking it will be Barnett) will tighten his game up, reduce turnovers, and be enough for us to win more than we lose.

I really like how people are not just saying beat Iowa and our season is complete. I like how we wanna get 9 wins. Everything is changing

But if we would beat Iowa In Kinnick that wouldn't be bad
