9-9-2000 against UNLV. I remember we won pretty handily. We bought hillside but was able to sit in good seats since there was no one in the corner sections. Sure a different atmosphere now compared to then.

Pretty brutal 63-20 loss in Ames to Iowa, the Tim Dwight show. I actually grew up an Iowa fan and had some mixed emotions having just been at ISU for a few weeks as a freshman, still liked Iowa at the time but didn't like my "new" team getting blown out. By the next year when ISU won in '98 I was 100% Cyclone.

My first game was in Sept. 1952. I was a freshmen and that was the first football game I had ever seen. I used to listen to them on radio before that. I believe Dale Williams was the announcer. I would give almost anything to be able to attend now. I am holed up in Baton Rouge(LSU). I still love the Cyclones more. I do listen or watch the Cyclones on TV, Clonezone or listen on radio internet. I cannot believe that there aren't some old ducks like me on Cyclone Fanatic. I wouldn't miss it. I am on it more than hour per day checking what 's happening with the Clones.

Wow, that looks like it would have been South Dakota State. Amazing. People's first games on here now span 59 years.

Fall '82 - watched ISU beat Kent St and a running back by the name of Harold Brown had a career day if I remember correctly. Set in the north end zone bleachers and walked up the path to the Olsen Building next to John Arnaud at the end of the game. That was a big deal as he was dating a girl from my hometown at the time, eventually Austen's mom.

I remember always going to Hawk games as a kid...They always lost...I always wanted to go to an ISU game ...Finally got my chance in the early 80s as I watched the Clones beat an over-matched Colorado State team. I became a fan that day...If I remember, Donnie Duncan's boys started quick that season but pretty much fell off the face of the earth losing the last 5 games that year.

First game was 1969 versus Brigham Young but I don't really remember that game, had to look up who we played. I do remember the Missouri game later that season mostly because of the snow ball fights in the stands.

I was at both. Don't remember either game.

I do recall that in 1968 or 1969 there was a story in the DSM rag about and a photo of an Oklahoma dentist who attended the game and had SOONERS in red etched into his front teeth.

9/5/98- Loss to TCU. Do not remember any of it, but I do remember everything about the following week as I was sitting with my Grandparents (Hawk Alums) watching us destroy the Hawks.

One of our Twin Cities alumni is Class of '48 and has season tickets and drives down to all the games. I like when he shows up at alumni events so I don't have to be the oldest guy there!

October, 1970, I was a senior in high school and came up from Ft. Madison for the Oklahoma game. We jumped out to a big lead, the place was going nuts, and OU came back and won 29-28. Good game!

September 20, 1997 versus Iowa. I drove to Ames with a die hard Iowa State fan friend in high school. Turns out his family had had tickets for 20+ years so they were pretty good. Got to see Iowa trounce us 63-20... At the time I was, gasp, and Iowa fan so it didn't sting too much. I converted shortly thereafter when I decided to go to ISU.
