Is that place called Bazooka's? I can see myself wearing a suit there and spending a G after we cut down the nets. Hard drugs possibly involved.

Applebees. Stay away from the BBQ, its all mine. The Boulevard Tour isn't bad. You do get to drink a little at the end which is nice. When I first moved here, you got like a half hour or so to drink all you want. I think now they give you like 4 or 5 bottle caps and you can trade those in for smaller glasses of whatever beer you want. I would also suggest Grinders. Pretty damn good food and a decent beer selection. It's in the Crossroads area and that's pretty close to P&L. Have fun

I plan on eating so many burnt ends I throw up.

Sporting KC has a home match on that Saturday. Even if you're not a hard core soccer fan, they have a pretty amazing atmosphere at their home matches.

Pretend that you're not in the third world country that is Missouri.

Indeed indeed. And believe me, had I been of age I would've nuked my brain. The worst part? We stayed at the Ameristar hotel casino and I couldn't drink or gamble.

My wallet and liver thank me for not being of age.

Edit: but that Ameristar place was pretty neat I thought. Really crowded though.

Well we've both flipped the ******, because my drinking days are behind me, for which my wallet and liver both thank me. I also have found that Cyclone losses are a bit more tolerable when not intoxicated. So you'll have to tip one for this old fogey when you're partying in KC next week!

EDIT: Why is the word S-C-R-I-P-T identified as a banned word?

The challenge is to try and find a place you will not run into at least 10 cyclone fans! Bet you can not find one!

Eat a lot, drink a lot, and watch some really good basketball. It is fun, enjoy! Say hi to a cyclone fan and you will have plenty to talk about for a whole evening.

If you are interested in finding a more unique way to get your drink on, I would suggest Manifesto.

The place is setup like a prohibition era speakeasy. Enter through the alley, and it is in the basement under the hotel. Great drinks, cool atmosphere, not far from P&L. I would recommend a reservation over the weekend.

Also, if you don't get BBQ at least once you have failed at life. Oklahoma Joes and Jack Stack are my favorites, but just make sure to get out and try a couple of the local establishments.

I am so glad i am one of the four others on this trip with madcyentist. This trip has all the makings of waking up with a wild jungle kitty in the bathroom...

Group of 5 24-25 year old going in my group. Staying at the Sheraton Crowne Center.

Most likely gonna hit up P&L with PHR bar and Angels Rock bar.

I think we went to that strip club 2 years ago for a Bachelor Party. If it's the same one, don't go. Chicks only strip down into their bikinis.

I've been going to the Big 12 tournament for a few years now and for anyone making a trip over to Westport, it's definitely more than just Kelly's.

Beer Kitchen is a solid place that has good food and a wide array of brews and McCoy's is another spot to get some excellent micro brews.

Also, I'd echo what others have said about Boulevard. Get there early if you're going to do the tour. I wouldn't expect much free booze, but it's an alright tour as far as breweries go.

As for BBQ, everyone pretty much nailed it, but if you go to Oklahoma Joe's, prepare to wait. It's worth it though. Also, a reservation is probably a good idea for Jack's Stack in the plaza.

There's a Jack Stack closer to downtown, in the Freight House on 22nd Street. If you want wings, the best in town are The Peanut's on Ninth Street.

If you're into traveling, hit Woodyard BBQ (3001 Merriam Ln, Kansas City, KS). It's the most underrated barbecue in KC.

There's a good burger joint that just opened in the P&L: BRGR. Not cheap, but quality food.

For pizza, d'Bonx is tough to beat. There's one in Crown Center and another on 39th Street. Flying Saucer isn't a bad place to hit for a variety of brews in the P&L.

The best steak place in town, Anton's, isn't far from Sprint Center. It also has a nice selection of craft beers. Again, not cheap, but the best steak I've eaten in KC.

Other places to try: Pandolfi's, Bo Ling's, Port Fonda, Westport Ale House, McCoy's/The Foundry, Beer Kitchen, Manifesto, The Rieger.

I'm gonna miss the B12 tourney this year but I do have to go down to KC for family business in a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to stopping at McCoy's and The Foundry.

Bolded for truth. Best wings I've ever had. Will be there Thursday after ISU game.
