Lately I’ve been rediscovering albums from my past. Today:

It doesn’t get the attention that Doolittle and Surfer Rosa get, but it’s just as good imo.

New album Skeleta from Ghost dropped. They are diving heavy into the 80's vibes, definitely a significant departure from their early sound but continues the evolution their music has been on. A really fun listen IMO.

Not a huge Ghost fan so take my opinion with a grain of salt but I had to skip through the first 4 songs and they weren't doing it for me at all, but man from De Profundis on this is a banger of an album.

Ha they definitely aren't for everyone. A lot of long time Ghost fans hating on this one because it is big on the 80's arena rock feel. You'd hardly know this is the same band comparing this to their first two albums. Tobias definitely has evolved their direction over the years, I'm a big fan in general so I'm biased for sure! Umbra is the track for me on this one.

Ghost has definitely evolved. I originally thought it was a complete gimmick and trash music, but they have really grown on me. The past 3 albums are really good, and they have perfected the sound and live show/theatrics that people obviously have connected with. Good tunes and great live shows.

And I'm just over here thinking Ghost was always an 80's style band. That's even what I thought when they first came out maybe they've gotten more refined but they were always 80's.
