I was watching Two Guys and they were discussing how we got the new I State logo. A comment mentioned that there was a fan vote and that's how we ended up with our current logo. I had no idea that this had occurred until today! This made me think, if we were to hold a vote today. Which would you vote for?

The answer is anything with Cyclones. We need to lean into having a unique mascot. We finally leaned into Jack Trice's story. Time for Cyclones to get some love. If that means moving away from I-State then so be it.
I agree that we need to lean into the tornado/cyclone aspect. It's so unique in college. i actually like the ISU block letters. Spread them out a bit, put a whirly bird right underneath like LSU and that would've been a perfect brand imo.

I would rather go back to the walking Cy logo.

I generally agree, as would many people, I think.

But in light of that view, it's also funny to me that walking Cy gets brought up so much. Even though walking Cy is a great logo, it definitely would go in the opposite direction of embracing Cyclones and just add to the confusion of casual fans who hear the nickname Cyclones but see a bird mascot.

'Favorites' will always vary. But, 'identity' is more important than ever; if for no other reason, than to build brand independent of geographical location. If we continue to 'change' identity we risk the consistency required to be known outside of our own domain. Like it or not, we should not change ... again!

Iowa State's Primary Athletics Logos ...'s Primary Athletics Logos ...

Update this mofo.

This is the correct answer. I love the Walking Cy logo but nothing about it says “Cyclones”. We have a unique nickname and need to embrace the hell out of it. A slightly modernized version of that log (not the bugle crap) would instantly be one of the coolest primary logo’s in college sports

Give me the ISU one. I feel like we've really gotten away from that moniker, it seems like it was more widely used and acknowledged as a nickname in the McCarney era, must've died a bit during the I-State rebrand.
