Is why people are so mad at Chizik for leaving. Trust me, I love my job and work hard everyday, but if the Chicago Cubs asked me to work for them I would be gone in a split second.
Auburn vs ISU for a football HC job. Hmmmm. You would have to be an idiot to not take that job. Im happy for coach Chizik. Sounds like he got his dream job.
All I ask of our coaches is that they work hard as they can while HC of our programs.
I don't get it either. It is possible that when he said those things he meant it and he was being honest at least in the present sense. (everyone honest with themselves knew he was a ladder climber and wasn't going to stay 15 years, those that missed it during the hire no matter what he said publicly were fooling themselves). Someone with more time than me can come up with the timeline in terms of when he said what and when tuberville was fired etc. I can tell you from personal experience I was very happy at a job, and boom out of the blue I got a call to come in and "talk" with another company. 2 meetings adn 5 days later I have an offer for a job that it's a lot closer to my dream job than the then current really good enjoyable job I had. Does that mean that I lied to my boss when I told them two days before that fateful call things were "great?"
Now mind I don't think that it happened that way. I think it's likely that he told the OSU assistant it was a mistake to take the ISU job. I think it's likely he put out the back channel word that he was looking. I think he likely told us all what every coach says in situations like that. "I'm the coach at the University of Buffalo." I think he played us, and we were all willing to be played for 3-5 years in return for a couple bowl games. problem is we got played for 5 wins in two years and he got a 100% raise, and left us holding the bag.
