That is why I said that the personal foul can have both positive and negative effects on a game. Today it did more negative than positive. Again I'm not happy about the play in the endzone, but I also noticed that the UNLV QB slide early a lot more often after that hit than before it.

Well, last weekend they had a negative impact as well.

2 weekends in a row and person could make a case that personal foul penalties played a direct role in ISU losing.

So, it'll be tough for me to find the positive effects.

Yes, I know not all are as evil as most - but so far - these are hurting our chances of being successful - significantly - and it needs to stop.

Let me paint it clear so people understand.

He was being aggressive by going full boar at the quarterback. He was stupid because he didn't let up. I don't think there was time in that half-a-second for him to consider himself being frustrated.

I'm amazed at the animosity shown towards him. It was a very very stupid play, it definitely wasn't a Vick spike to someone on the ground.

Read here...the 2nd one was the straw that broke the camel's back. But this is the one that really impacted the game...

As dumb as it was, the first one really hurt. Took unlv from a 3rd and long to a first down inside ISU territory.

He is 18 years old. I rest my case.

Also, he is willing to lay the wood. and I love that. Let him mature, trust me on this one.

Its too bad he did them of course, because our coverage sure could have used him

The more and more we talk about this the more and more I like LJ. I for one do not want to go back to the days when ISU got pushed around. At least it is looking like for once if you push us we are going to push back. And that is what I am seeing with the majority of the personal fouls. Someone pushes or gets in one of our guys face, and he pushes back. That to me is a sight of aggressiveness and respect for the uniform that they put on every game.

The QB was in the endzone before LJ even took off at him. LJ was probably 6 yards deep in the endzone.

He ran laterally at the QB, and nailed him in the ribs with his helmet. It was an incredibly stupid move.

Whatever happens, I hope this is the end of the personal foul parade that is Iowa State football right now.

So? He didn't start playing football 2 weeks ago. Age is NO excuse. He is a Division I, Big XII football player and should know better than to tomahawk someone in the endzone after the play is over. Adrenaline, aggressiveness, whatever you want to call it HAS to be brought under control. To excuse his behavior because of his age is ridiculous.

And I'm baffled at people not seeing this. Or the significantly negative impact on the game the previous PF penalty had.

Just crazy.

In our last 2 games, PF penalties played a major role in our losing the games. At what point will it be too much for some of you?

ehh don't feel like reading the next 2 pages... it'll be more of the same. Once again the Extremes are coming out in the heat of the moment.

Iowa State does not "need" LJ - especially if he plays like he did the whole 10 minutes or so he was in tonights game before being ejected.

Kicking him off the team is a bit extreme too though. Everyone just needs to pass out and try this again in the morning

He's one really stupid 18 year old then.

We all know he will be fine. But there is NO excusing his behavior. It is not like today was his first encounter with getting flagged. This has been a problem for him this year.
