I'm not quite ready to label it a resounding success. It doesn't hurt to have 3 teams with an opportunity to advance, but Elite 8 results could swing Big 12 from "solid" to "rare territory."

At minimum, overall conference performance already is safely above 2014 and 2015 tournaments, which were largely major meltdowns.

3 teams is the elite 8 is far from solid. For gods sake, that’s 30% of conference.

I think anytime the B12 can get a $30m payout from the NCAA it is a success.

Based on last years $1.7m per game the B12 has earned $30.6m which will be paid over the next 6 years. Or put in terms for just ISU people, that is at least $500k a year for the next 6 years.

As an ISU fan, that is why I root for the B12 to do well. Would be fun if we could lock down 3/4s of the final four. Probably won't happen, but that would fun, a hell of a lot of gravy for the conference at this point.

Right on. It’s also big for the perception of the conference to get FF teams.

From a perception standpoint, if Kansas or Texas Tech make the Final 4 the Big 12 will have to be considered the strongest conference this tournament and season. (Don't include K-State because the perception will be that it was mainly matchup related, even though the Kentucky game was a very nice win.)

What is that, a 12-6 record? Pretty good. Considering that two of the loses are to the likely Champion (unless KU beats them) and two loses were in OT.

I'd have to give the Big 12 an A for this post season performance.

Yeah...hard not to feel good about our conference's success thus far and lets be honest. It is important for Kansas to do well.

If they are going to dominate regular season championships to the degree they have for over a dozen + years, we take a pretty big perception hit if the don't do very, very well in the tourney.

Related -- Sure made it easier cheering for Kansas today given they were playing Duke!
