What do you want to know about Campbell's last five years.

Glad that your son and you had a favorable experience with Mr. Campbell at Toledo. As a Toledo fan (and many others feel this way) he was ill-prepared to play against Northern Illinois and again when he had a chance to redeem himself against Western Michigan. A win in either one of those games would have set the stage for Toledo to win the MACC and a chance to play in a "Big Six" bowl this year. Unfortunately the dollars dangled in front of him by ISU caused him to loss both his focus and, most sadly, his integrity. So, in a few years he'll either be successful at ISU and move on, or he won't and will move on as well. I suspect it will be the latter and not the former as he leaves a lot to be desired from a game management perspective. Just presenting a different opinion from a long time Toledo fan.

If only there were a BBS for Toledo Rocket fans to express their misgivings about ISU's hire with other Rocket fans, that was not also our board.

Fair comments. Disagree it was the dollars. I believe the game there presented an atmosphere that shocked him. Something he wanted to be a part of and try to make better. Game management will continue to improve with experience. I believe he outrecruited ISU every year while HC at Toledo. ISU has passed two league schools in rankings in only two weeks of recruiting. He has to win 7-8 games years three and four to get elite job in 4 years if he wants it. Averages six wins per year and he is long term. Loses/gets fired and gets to pick his OC job from better half Big 5 schools. What a terrible set of choices for his future.

And if he has to go the OC route, it will be 7 years and $14 million later at age of 43. That sounds like a rough life. :jimlad:

The real truth (from a Rockets fan). Never beat Northern Illinois, therefore never won the MAC West, never won the MACC. If that is OK with you Cyclone fans then you've found your man.

I think it's safe to say us Cyclone fans would have zero problem with a 2 loss season.

Sounds like the second coming of Dan McCarney. There's a few fans that will be ecstatic and a lot more who will be, well, sour red and gold fruit.

I hope to talk my son into watching a game in Ames and seeing his old coach. """"I am making a list and checking it twice going to hold you all to food and brew, tolfbfan may be coming to Ames."""" You can actually sing this to Santa Claus is coming to town....enjoy:wideeyed:

So your saying you're upset with 11-2. The two losses being by 5 points. Your first 10 win season since 2001. .......Scratches head.

You don't get it. We finished third in the MAC West this season. Not good enough. Mr. Campbell was too busy negotiating his contract with the ISU AD and not taking care of business with his current employer. Anyway, he is yours now. Time will tell if he is successful in Ames. He was a disappointment in Toledo, couldn't win the games that really counted.

Heres what you don't get. Toledo spent majority of the season in the top 25 and two wins vs P5 schools on its way to a 10 win season. People notice that as do recruits. Not sure anyone outside of MAC fans could tell you who won the MAC.

You would fit in well with our tinfoil CFers.
