This new post voting system is interesting. Someone disagreed with your post. Not that they liked or disliked it, but didn't agree that he ran out of pokeballs. Weird response.

Edit: Thought I had quoted ISUCyclone06, but guess not.

Well there's no proof of that so I disagreed. And if he ran out he would just get more.

I've been hearing the same buzz. Lard will be here, barring some unforeseen circumstance. A little unsure of his skill level frankly. Hasn't played since his Junior year of high school? Not ruling out the kid has skills, and he certainly has length. But, it seems like he needs to really hit the weight room in order for his body to be BIG 12 ready. You can make the argument that most Freshman lack the strength and conditioning coming in though. Bottom line, I'm going to temper expectations with Lard.

I think it's safe to assume he won't give us much next year whether he RS or not. Of course there's always room for a pleasant surprise

I would have to do some digging that I'm not sure is possible exactly with the new CF but there was a publication in Louisiana that ranked all of the 2016 basketball players in the state and Lard was #1 above multiple D1 players. @CyTwins can verify my statement above.

You're right, girl. This scout article ranked him as the top prospect for 2016 about a year and a half ago:

http://www.scout.com/college/lsu/story/1507421-best-of-louisiana-basketball-class-of-2016

247Sports ranks him as the 7th prospect from the state of Louisiana (this one just from June of this year, even after not playing for a whole year):

http://247sports.com/Season/2016-Basketball/RecruitRankings?State=LA

And here is another local publication that had him as the top prospect in the state (this one from about a year ago):

http://sportsnola.com/recruiting-top-louisiana-prep-basketball-prospects-2016/

I hate that there is not more video footage of him. All these articles just rave about him, so scouts must see some decent potential there. Hope he turns out to be a pleasant surprise for this class.

Maybe Lard will be football's version of Mike Warren. A really good talent with skeptical academics so the big boys passed on him and he fell into our lap.
I am serious in saying that this has been my thought all along. I have been a huge fan of the Lard get because of this mentality. for Iowa St. to get top-tier talent, they have to have some help as far as someone slipping through the cracks or there to be questions about them. (i.e. any transfers, Georges, Monte being too small. etc. etc.) I think he is a top level talent and will be a great surprise for us. I hope that he can keep his academics in line and continue to develop as a basketball player, because it seems like the natural skill is there.

Thanks for the research. Lard is a big wild card for Prohm and can be a big piece of his puzzle as he transitions from CFH's player to putting his stamp on the team. Just looking at his junior interest list in shows the potential he has if not for his school issues limiting his recent visibility.
"Lard is receiving interest from, among others, Kansas State, Baylor, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, New Mexico and Texas A&M."

The optimistic side of me has high hopes for Lard and Solomon Young (who was very highly regarded as a Freshman and due to not growing as expected recruiting cooled) could be diamonds in the rough Prohm identified and set up ISU front court moving forward. Credit to Prohm for staying with these recruits and not moving on when some flaws were seen like other coaches.
