I don't have a lot of experience going to away games... and when I do go to an away game I want to make sure I can actually watch the game. This leads me to buy tickets that are NOT in the visitors section. Am I making a big mistake?

For the WVU game I have tickets in Section 124.

If you want a better view to watch the game then no you aren't making a mistake. If being around Cyclone fans is more important to you than having a better view then yes you are making a mistake.

Feels a lot like @ KSU, though WVU is better. I like the improvements in ST play (even if minor they are positive) and efficient Purdy play. 24-13 Clones.

KSU is more balanced on offense than WV. Defensively, they are probably better, and time zone changes never good. However, WV special teams are worse. Overall I think a less complete and competitive team than KSU, and a more favorable matchup for ISU.

That said, have to play clean or anything can happen. Won't score tons of points on them at their place; can't help them with turnovers.

Hopefully, WV will have a letdown after a win on the road. If they Doege would throw a couple picks, that'd be appreciated.

We've kinda owned WVU in recent years, which makes me feel a little better. But a lot of signs point toward an off game. Emotional letdown, long trip, and playing a really physical game last week.

Teams with really good receivers scare me the most, and I'm not sure WVU has those. Doege is about as vanilla as they come. He will check down and check down and check down again. He's not mobile. That's a QB we usually eat up. Get Breece going early, and we should win, but I won't be surprised if we come out a little sluggish. Just win, baby.

If this season continues on this positive trajectory, Mevis deserves a plaque or something in JTS. That dude... quite literally, has stepped in and saved the season.
Fitting that he is the first guy to handle both PK and punting duties since Yelk. Yelk did the same thing (saved the season) when he was asked to take over both.

This game worried me more before the season started as I thought WVU would be much more dangerous this year. That being said, they are going to be fired up to play a ranked team at home and will still be dangerous.

I've watched a little bit of WVU this year. Your point about Doege being immobile is accurate, but they do like to use their Freshman QB Garrett Greene as a change of pace. He's more of a running QB and has had pretty decent success (4 TDs, 7.5 yd avg on 40 carries). We'd obviously be looking run when he comes in, but he and Leddie Brown are pretty formidable when they start rolling.

That being said, I think we should win by double digits. We are better on both sides of the ball and are hitting our stride. A takeaway or two would put this game away comfortably IMO.

A brief scan of their message board indicates they are jealous of Tech being able to fire their coach. They are not a happy group it looks like out there.

My biggest concern is the weather forecast which is calling for rain (60% chance). Makes me think there could be a higher than average number of turnovers and we cannot afford to lose the turnover battle. Also, WVU has an outstanding D-line so I was thinking we might do a lot of short passing to loosen them up. That may not be so easy if the ball is wet.
